My first exam is on the 24th of May for both additional Physics and English literature. I need to resit all the exams I haven't gotten an A* in, which include History B (which I got a C in), Biology core (C) and Maths Unit A (A).

Two of my exams are resits (Engineering & Geography), two are entirely optional (GCSE Further Maths) and one is an AS-Level (Science). The only one's I worried about are the Engineering and English ones. But considering Engineering's considered a very hard subject and I don't care about English, I'd be fine with getting a B in those.

EDIT: Now the topic has changed, I guess I'm having pizza later. At least I think so.

I'm really hoping I'll get more than a B in English. That's quite an important subject to me.

Although I can't write to save my life, so it probably makes sense.

I can't do the reading part of the paper. I'm perfectly fine with writing, that's basically just lying on the spot (something I do a lot when it comes to homework). The reading though, you need evidence. That's what I find harder about it.

Teacher: Bhavin (that's my name, by the way), how does the title "yellow palm" represent the theme of a divided society?
Me: Erm... The palms of your hands have lines on them, which represent the divisions between ethnic groups and religions?
    Teacher: Very good!
Me: Seriously? I just made that up.
Teacher: So? That's what English is all about!
    Me: Fair enough!

So yeah, that's now how I roll when it comes to English.

I find the literature paper easier, because I can just bluff my way through everything while providing slightly fabricated evidence.

It's a genocide awareness day. It's to make people aware of terrible things, to prevent it happening again I guess.

Trust me when I say I know exactly how you feel. But the truth is that parents just get like that in the teenage years. Their children are starting to become more independent thinkers and often they fear they may change for the worse due to influences outside their control; so they try that much harder to keep their children on the right path. Oftentimes it feels commanding and domineering to the teen, and it kind of is, but I don't think they mean to be.

I say you shouldn't let it get to you too much. Holding on to the indignation and anger merely causes something bad to fester in the background of your relationship, and I don't think you need me to tell you that you don't want that to happen. If it really becomes that much of a problem, perhaps you could point out to her that study has always been your top priority and you've never ignored it before.
