So I've been riddled with a lot of migraines recently. I haven't gone 3 days at a time without getting one. Does anyone happen to know a possible reason why they happen extremely frequently? It is quite irritating and makes me not focus on my schoolwork.
I get terrible migraines during this time and summer because I have terrible seasonal allergies. I had one that lasted the majority of last Saturday and Sunday. Other common causes are obviously stress, irregular sleep, and loud noises. Smoking or exposure to smoke also can cause migraines, as well as certain new smells or perfumes, which bother me terribly.
Err...Hmm...Are you quite certain that the love of your life is the genuine article? Any large and powerful spells cast lately? If not, then there's this I pulled from a site. These might be the cause of your migraine: Allergies and allergic reactions Bright lights, loud noises, and certain odors or perfumes Physical or emotional stress Changes in sleep patterns or irregular sleep Smoking or exposure to smoke Skipping meals or fasting Alcohol Menstrual cycle fluctuations, birth control pills, hormone fluctuations during menopause onset Tension headaches Foods containing tyramine (red wine, aged cheese, smoked fish, chicken livers, figs, and some beans), monosodium glutamate (MSG), or nitrates (like bacon, hot dogs, and salami) Other foods such as chocolate, nuts, peanut butter, avocado, banana, citrus, onions, dairy products, and fermented or pickled foods.
Hmmm, well, I get migraines whenever I'm REALLY stressed out or when I'm too dumb to turn down the volume of my music whenever I use headphones. Anything stressing you out in particular? I hear allergies can mess people up too. Hope you get better.
I have a very large cottonwood tree outside of my house. I am severely allergic to conttonwood, (Or is it cottonweed? I forget) so I think this may be it. Thanks Mike, and anyone else who offered assistance. Not to mention that I have tons of standardized tests that I have to complete tomorrow. Guess that's just life...
I love spring and summer, but my head and sinuses do not. :derpe: Where I live is plastered by pollen and different weed types. Allergies suck. Glad I was of help Saikyo. I hope you feel better soon and good luck with your exams. (I can't wait for mine )
When I was in Year 7 I used to get them regularly, after a few visits to the hospital, it turned out I was having too much Coke and cheese. :|
Me, I feel that if you get the seasonal allergy medication (the over the counter stuff), that usually works to bring down migraines caused by, well, allergies. But other than that I really have no clue about it other than stay indoors, close windows and turn off lights, and also drink plenty of fluids (usually what I go for when I don't have my meds (lol sounds like I'm crazy, but we all are eventually))
Hippie incoming. You may want to try some breathing exercises. It can be a great way to relieve stress, if you can manage to bring yourself to a few moments of quitness. But I don't know what your situation is, so take it or leave it.
