I am okay with this *glomps back* @Dog,I'm just wasting time at uni now. Still got a Maths lecture in 40mins. Ugh I hate leaving uni at 5pm
Doggy's back too! It could be worse, Xan. One semester I was leaving at 9:00 pm because one of my classes was ludicrously late.
Yeah, I know it can be worse. I'm just used to leaving around 3pm for about 12 years now. And the breaks are annoying. On wednesday I got a lecture at 9, then nothing till 3pm, and leave at 5pm.
Oh cool, I kinda wish I'd taken Japanese at school, I really want to learn it I just didn't know it back then Also awesome, Once I'm all settled in a few months I'm planning to really get stuck into learning bass guitar and how to make basic games.
Yep! I now have a 2-year degree in Japanese. Can anyone say useless? If it was full degree, I might be able to do something with it. When/if I go back to college, I'm going to change it to Astronomy or Astrophysics. I'll probably take a musical theory or composition elective too.
I've made basic games before, mostly text based or ASCII based. I've learned most of DirectX and OpenGL, put simply, they are things that allow 3d graphics to be rendered. I'm yet to make anything in it though. I know the C++/C, and C# languages, which are what are usually necessary. Java is available as well, but only people who lack intelligence would use that for PC games. You can make pretty simple stuff in C# with XNA, which is a more indie version of what DirectX and OpenGL can do
>Java for games is stupid Minecraft says hi. >More indie than OpenGL OpenGL is Open Source. You can only be AS indie as it.
thats a scripting language. Can't make games by themselves :derpe: In my experience of it + RelicScript (dawn of war take on LUA modding), I thought it was easy to get a grasp of and easy to use
i know you cant make any games with it by itself.I just wanted to know if it was a good scripting language. So its easy?Good.Goood....
Oh by the way, I finally got around to learning how to make animated gifs, so if anyone wants any gifs of anything let me know
And then in the hypothetical world, Minecraft would perhaps be somewhat decent, and run at a reasonable speed using another language For XNA, I was refering to the fact that solo, or small groups would usually find XNA to be a great place to start, using the .NET platform.
