Hello Everypony, I've been an artist for a long time. After MLP:FiM came out, I tried to ignore it, but my ignorance couldn't go on forever, and someone so "delicately" informed me that Lauren Faust was in on the project. I immediately hopped into it around the time Season 2 Episode 4 was out, and I've been crazy about it since. Then... the art bug bit me. I started with simple OCs, and then it's become something much more fierce. From my earlier ponies: Spoiler: Mystic Heart Spoiler: Rough 'n' Tumble Spoiler: Sugarcat Spoiler: A Gift for Syntex & Dopy To beyond: Spoiler: Three Ponies for Pretear from Solia Spoiler: Two Boys for Amakai from Solia Spoiler: Two Boys for LadyKazumi from Solia Spoiler: Eight Star Creepin' Up on Cherrystripe Of course, as an artist, with enough motivation/compensation, I'll end up doing any abonimation... I know that feel, though some things I will refuse because of common decency, or at the most have them restricted from public view. Anyway, it seems that we're about on the same level when it comes to art, though you're better at vectoring than I. Also, don't you just hate how you can draw like the best picture ever, but then when you add a background it just looks completely off? It happens to me all the time.
Nice! I admire those who can post thier art and feel proud and this is something to be proud of! Well done!
Actually, admittedly, I've never been thrown off by backgrounds. I'm terrible at them anyway, so I don't really worry about them. Not sure about the terminology of "Vector" though. All I know is that I sketch the ponies on paper, then scan them, then I ink them on the computer here. Thank you so much for the compliments, Darkshine!
Bah! Pen tool, shmen tool. Messy rasters are where it's at. Seriously though, nice work man, but if I can I'd urge you to really give practicing backgrounds a shot. Even fairly simple backgrounds can make a huge difference, take the first and 5th images for example. I'm kind of the opposite to you, I draw backgrounds almost exclusively, or did anyway. I figure there's no point just avoiding it forever, so now I'm trying to add characters to my images.
I can't be too worried about backgrounds, though. Not like I'm looking to become an artist as a job. ↑ Cayenne Pepper, for a friend of mine. I didn't know what to do with MLP-style fire, so I used my old fire effects methods. ↓ Whammy Bar!
Meh, I've only ever done one collab. Slightly less than enthusiastic about them. :derpe: The background is the very dull parts of the Chaos Sanctum.
Here's what I did today... Spoiler: A Pair of Pretty Ponies Spoiler: Filly Foal Usagi Spoiler: Claw of Sandro Spoiler: Mystic Heart the Mystic Enchantress
Thanks! Ever since my terrible illness though, I've been having a problem sketching something. So, the first person to post after me with a description of a pony, I'll do that one.
Okie dokie, ponies! Here's what I did at Anthrocon! Spoiler: Exhaulted Pony Some sort of pontified version of a character from "Exhaulted" whatever that is. Spoiler: Starstruck Spoiler: Faren Once a cat, now a pony. Bam! Spoiler: Eltani Once a DRAGON, now a pony! BAM!
