Hello all! Yep, it's time for a Z. Wind thread, which is LOOOONG overdue. My topic is about quirks. What odd little things do you do that makes you.....well, you! Maybe you'll find others who share your unique mannerisms! Let me get the ball rolling here....let's see.... 1.) Whenever I find myself barefoot, I always walk around on my toes, heel off the ground. I've named this action my "invisible high heels." I don't know why I do it, I just do. 2.) Whenever I brush my teeth or something like that, I always use scalding hot water, no matter how much it hurts. I guess I do that because I hear high temperatures kill germs. A bit of a gap in logic, but whatever! 3.) If someone becomes a good friend of mine, I buy them a pair of sunglasses, even if they already have a pair. I do it because I lfills me up with a strong sense of swag, walking around with my friends all wearing shades. Remember, if any of you meet up with me, expect a free pair of sunglasses even if you hate them! OK, now it's your turn! Share the little things that make you unique! (Apologies in advance to the mods if this thread has something wrong. My thread making skills are rusty.)
I share your first two! I thought I was the only one with the barefoot thing haha. :derpe: Hmm... I'm quite the germ freak I always turn public facility door handles with my shirt/sweatshirt sleeve. I brush my teeth a real lot (which I guess isn't a quirk necessarily, but I've never had one cavity). I use a piece of tissue paper to lift toilet seats up (even my personal home one). Some other ones: I hate having my face wet, showers or swimming, I must always have a dry towel in reach otherwise I flip out. I can only take naps on my back, but can't fall into a deep sleep unless I'm on my side. There's more, but they get less and less odd.
I have too many... But I can only think of two kinda strange things I do this second. -EVERY DAY, when I've got only two minutes before I have to leave for to school, I always wash my hair before leaving. I have no idea why. I can't do it, say, half an hour before school. A few minutes. I don't do it if it rains. -I sometimes find myself walking in circles on my front room rug. It has squares on it, and I find myself walking around the matt, carefully placing each foot in each square as I go. I sometimes do it for about five minutes before I realise I'm doing it. Just walkin' around, in circles...
Well I'm me. I'm a quirk in itself. Anyhorse.... 1. If I'm turning a corner, I always turn on the ball of my foot. So I'll like, approach a corner, lean back on my heel, and spin round it or slide up to the corner. I don't know why, I also like to skip, power-walk and walk backwards often. 2. Every night, I turn the alarm on my alarm clock off, then back on again for good luck. 3. I talk to myself or inanimate objects when I'm doing something like waiting for a sandwich to cook in the toaster or something. This may be a cat, a bottle, a cupboard or the microwave. That's not crazy right? 4. Me and my mate share an odd one. Every day - at some point or another - me or my mate will walk up to each other and go "Happy New Year *insert mine or his name here*". This is because of a little joke we've had for YEARS where I accidentily forgot to say Happy New Year, and by the time I did, it was like, Easter XD So now we say it everyday just to make sure
-Gasp- You walk forefoot just like I do! Except I allow my heel to touch the ground on account of the fact that I have plantar facilitis (Swelling of the tendon in the bottom of your foot due to excessive use.) Hmmm, what are -my- quirks though. I always seem to be wearing a hat whenever I'm allowed, and it's never a normal hat really. It ranges from top hats, to giant orange squid hats, to Captain's hats. I have a collection. I'm always popping some joint, whether it be my neck, my fingers, my back, or my shoulders. If I go too long without doing so, I get incredibly restless. I sit on my feet. Don't judge me. I have a knack for obtaining twins out of thin air. We then go on to become the same person. My list is up to 5 twins, yet only 3 of us are connected.
I'm such a quirky person when compared to the lot at my school, but I can't think of any individual quirks.
Haha, and I do the same thing when I sleep! Zephyr, I know how you feel about that twin thing. Let's see, I have more: 1. If I'm in my socks, I "ice skate" everywhere. 2. When I set my alarm to play the radio, I don't turn it off until whatever song is playing finishes. I dance in my bed until then. 3. Ever since seeing a scene in the first Transformers movie (the Baysplosion one) where Starscream grips a structure and swings around it, I always imitate that when entering my room. I run to my door, grab the frame, and swing into my room like a monkey. Perhaps a bit overzealous, but I like doing it.
I crack my knuckles just by making a fist. I also crack my neck a lot. I have a really, really big smile. Most people don't get it at first, but I smile a lot. I can sleep anywhere. Bed, floor, car, plane, grass, stone, tree: I've done it all. I hate how disgusting many public bathrooms are, so I've learned to open and close doors with my feet. If I'm really annoyed, I'll pace around vigorously. If I'm grossed out, I'll either close my eyes, look away, or spin around. I'll only usually touch people if I consider myself very close to them, or if I'm trying to get their attention. If I'm holding someone's hand, it's a special moment.
I almost always wear one of my coats. It doesn't matter if I'm inside, outside, whether it's hot or not- It's likely I wont take it off at all through out the day unless, say, asked to do so by a teacher, or if I get home.
@Zephyr: I also seet on my feet @Zephyr Wind: I used to ice skate on my socks a lot when I was kind... untill big chunch of wood from floor (wooden floor) stuck in my feet and had big problems with that foot for weeks. @ Dilly Star: I also crack my neck a lot. for my things: - I crack alsmot everything that can be cracked (all fingers (3 diffrent joints, 3 diffrent ways) and toes, knees, spine, neck, elbows sometimes) - whenever I'm waiting for bus/tram, I always walk back and forth if I'm alone.
I did that a lot when I used to wait for my school bus Another quirk for me. When I shower, I sometimes lean over the tub and talk to Hobbes about my thoughts. I swear I'm not insane and if anyone knows what I'm talking about, I'll love you forever. :3
I never realized so many people actually use their feet correctly. (If you land on your forefoot, the arch acts as a spring to reduce shock so injury is avoided throughout your leg) I love you all.
I will always move in little jumps if given the opportunity. They be faster. I tend to crack my knuckles before sitting down at a computer. Srs bsns time. I am a mullet, or at least have one. WHAT NOW? My taste in images. I think I don't need to clarify this to most recent users. Uh, what else... My general response to most things is some form of clapping or facepalming. I speak with my face.
I love combining ponies and death metal. When joining a gathering of people I am acquainted with, I may will often spout the first thing that comes to my mind When enter the social encounter. This usually results in the Confusion of all involved. My response to something being dull is pelvic thrust. I often confuse myself with my train of thought. I will usually not do something if it requires effort. DRD put R34 in my DropBox without me knowing until afterwards, When I investigated 2 days later; Investigating requires effort. I hold mock conversations with people in my head; I plan out what to say, and how they respond. With the exception of Dan, the responses I assume will be Made are often dead accurate, But the conversation will always end in a result other than The intended one.
