Fire helped Rex and Ember out of the wagon. The two walked into the base while Fire went to go talk to Dark, "Damn, those cultists!" He said, looking rather mad. His mane and tail began to turn to fire, as they usually do when Fire is angry. But his anger was soon replaced by sadness, and his mane and tail returned to normal. He sighed, not having anything else to say but, "Dammit... My home..."
Dark tried to comfort Firebreeze, "I know Firebreeze, I lost my home to. But instead of letting your angry and sadness rule you now, next chance you get, use it on the cultist." Dark looked up to see an officer motioning for her to the HQ, "Hey, go get settled in, meet the soldiers, relaxe, we're safe up here. Only an army of Pegasus can get up here and we'll have plenty of advance warning if there is. See you tomorrow Fireboy." Dark added the last part laughingly and headed off to the hq. Snow quickly gathered up water and slowly dripped it into Kleft's mouth knowing that water is more important than food. "Come on, don't die now!" she said
Firebreeze walked inside and found an empty bunk. He sat down and put his flamethrower under the bed. He felt like he was being watched, and he kind of was. Some of the soldiers were puzzled by his large, heavy armor with the Resistance insignia. Others were rather scared of his flamethrower. And the rest recognized him as the leader of the 'Rough Riders' during the Resistance war.
Dark took a seat in the dark room, she had been handed a film reel which she had put into the projector. As it counted down to the start, Dark got comfortable in her chair and watced the screen as it debriefed her on sercurity issues and projects that only ponies of her sercurity clearance could know about. As the film went on she was taken aback by the sheer number of secret projects, each more unbelievable and powerful than the last. The very last project on the film was plans for a complete and total evacuation of Equestria to a place called 'Hope'. When Dark finally left the room, it was dark outside and she went to her barrack and instantly collapsed and fell asleep.
Firebreeze spend a few good hours telling war stories to those who ask for them and would listen. He enjoyed being able to chat with these soldiers, they all seemed like good men. Firebreeze finished his last story and began to fall asleep.
Kleft focused his eyes and looked at Snow. 'What have I been reduced to...?' he thought sadly. Kleft didn't even remember collapsing. "Wait...hold on..."he said to her when she stopped. "I'd like to get back to civillization. I was positive there was one at this location when I teleported here. Where's the nearest city?"
"Um, that would be Ponyville. But you are too weak to teleport yourself, I'll take care of it." Snow said, and with a flash they teleported into Ponyville, or at least what was left of it. There were burning buildings, burning bodies, just plain dead bodies, basically what apocalypse looks like. In the distance, the Canterlot Palace was still burning. Snow was left speechless from the sight.
Kleft watched in horror as the buildings burned. Since it was nighttime, his vision was increased tenfold, and even from there he could see ponies running around in total chaos at Canterlot. "What is this!?" he exclaimed. He examined the remains of Ponyville. "This is horrid! Who would do such a-" His mind felt yet another shot of pain, and he looked at a nearby unicorn. Her face slowly melted and reformed itself to look like that of Starfire's. He gaped in horror at the sight and looked away, only to see that the second nearest body had morphed to look like Andorral, his personal squire. Kleft shrieked and turned around. All of the corpses now looked like ponies he once knew; Chancellor Mathiss, his master, even his best friend was in the crowd of murdered ponies. Kleft closed his eyes and collapsed to the ground, crying and repeating "They're all dead! They're all dead! They're all dead!" His nervous breakdown left him lying on the ground in a crying mess. (Post traumatic stress sucks, man)
Ecliptic woke up. He was in a dark room that looked like a barracks. The last thing he remembered was heading home when an explosion shook Ponyville. He got out of the bed he found himself in and followed a light down a long hallway ending in a door. Ecliptic pushed it open and cleared hes throat to get the attention of the stallion behind a desk. "Uh, excuse me. Where am I and why am I here?" He asked. "Oh, you're awake. Good, that means you are resistant to the knock-out drug." The stallion had a rough voice, but oddly sounded cheerful. "You are here because you and the others you must have seen sleeping are going to stop these wanna-be revolutionaries. Congratulations on joining the Royal Equestrian Special Forces." "I don't recall signing up," Ecliptic said skeptically. "In fact, I think I've been kidnapped." "We prefer the term 'drafted.' Now, you should head back to bed. Everything will be explained in the morning." From the corner of his eye, Ecliptic saw a pair of guards approaching. Defeated, he sighed and withdrew to the barracks.
In the mourning, a siren rang throughout the base waking everypony. It signaled the start of the day and Dark was determined to try to update this place, it was rather behind technology wise, considering the massive amount of equipment she had access to in Canterlot. She scanned the sky hoping for a messenger, and one did fly in. He handed her an envelope and then got the next scout to go out. Dark opened the letter and was gladdened, because it contained good news, not only was the royal family in the safety area, but the rest of her elite squad was on the way. That meant this place gaining 44 more ponies that it really needed for its defense. Dark found Firebreeze's barrack and went into tell him the good news, "Hey Fireboy! The Princesses are safe and we have reinforcements incoming!" Dark half yelled into the building, "Now come on, let's get some breakfast!"
"Alright, sounds good." Fire said, standing up and realizing he hadn't taken off his armor yet, "Meh, I'll just leave my armor on, it's more of a pain to take off than it is to get on." He then caught up with Dark and walked next to her, "So, what do we do next? Wait for another attack? Or do we find the enemy and take them out before they can do any harm?"
"Well, right now, all branches of the military is currently stretched to its limits holding on to what little we have, so for now we are going to be consolidating and getting ready for a counter attack. Now that these cultists have lost their best weapon, the element of surprise, I suspect we will be able defeat them. But trust me Fire, if something happens that threatens everypony's lives, we have plans to take care of that, even if the solution is out of this world ridiculous." Dark responded. (How 'bout them foreshadowing!)
"Well, I do enjoy a rediculous plan!" Fire said in response, "Where is the cafeteria in this place anyway?"
(Thanks for the essay to read . Could you add a post limit?) Grey Mane followed one of the Soldiers into a building sort of like a buker or a barracks. She put on her camo spell and continued further. She recognised the voice from before. "Cultist" Was the only word she could make out. With cultists... comes treasure! I knew that Pony had something...
Kleft forced a bubble around himself and floated in the air with his eyes shut tight. 'You'll be fine, just don't look at them.' He though. "Snow," he said aloud. "We should really get out of here, who knows what could be lurking around these ruins."
(Sorry, been juggling one too many rp's and also the whole new forum thing kinda screwed everything up.)
