In this RP, you are all ponies living in a society similar to Ancient Rome, circa 51 B.C.

In other words, power is ripe for the picking. Anypony with an army can attempt to take control of the Senatus Pullanusque Romanus (The Senate and the Ponies of Rome :p), and guess what? You just happen to have an army that is loyal to you and only you, so long as you feed them and pay them. However, you first have to get past the wily senate and their political antics, as well as rival generals fielding armies like yours.

And I will be able to do dice rolling stuffs! :D

Anyhow, here's the real description. Every player starts with an army of equal size (We'll keep track of armies and compare strength by numbers, everyone starts with 10,000 soldiers), and that will grow or shrink depending on how you play.
Here are the things dice will determine:

How many troops you can support each round/How much income your conquered territory earns you each round (Also determined by tax rate)
    How battle results are determined
Favor of the Plebs (common people) (This is also determined partially by your actions and your Roleplaying, however)
Random Events (Barbarians invade your territory, some soldiers desert you, the senate declares you a hostem, or public enemy (Which hurts your favor substantially), et cetera. This may be influenced minorly by your actions IC, for example, if you manage to ally yourself with the senate (or directly control the senate through military power), then they will not declare you a hostem.

    Things you control:

Where your army is stationed/is attacking
How high your tax rates are (Higher taxes = more money, less favor of the Plebs, and vice versa)
How many troops you have stationed where
Whether you will try to draft troops (drafting means quick armies, but less favor of the Plebs)
Your alliances with other players (random events may break these up, though)

There will be a map, but only for reference, so everypony knows where what is happening. It's not going to be a dynamic map or anything.

    Here is the map:

And here is a map showing the names of all the territories:

And the goal is to have all the other players capitulate. Then you become the de facto ruler of Equestrian Rome! :D

Feel free to join/make suggestions/ask questions, after all this is my first time making an RP. :derpe: Please tell this noob if he's doing it wrong, or if I didn't explain something well enough!

WOW! I've only seen a handful of RP's that have this level of detail. Or requirement of knowledge about how the world worked in 51 BC. I'm tempted to go for Gauls, if only because I really like the Asterix comics...

Lol Risk is nothing compared to...er...some games I've played...

-hides forum games with massive complexity behind back-

    http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=449094

Anyhow, all that aside, you don't have to get super into the in-depth mechanics of the game. You could just roleplay, and see how well you do.

    Pleaseplease PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE?!?!?!?

(JK you don't have to play if you don't want to )

No no! You don't need to really know how the world worked, you can just have fun playing the game... It's just I wanted to make it look complicated good!

Well...maybe you do... :sigh: Well, let's hope that there are people with general knowledge of what most people consider to be boring... lol this is the problem with having rather obscure interests...
