Hibiscus gathered what little food he had in his stores into his bags. 'Looks like I'm going to be hungry the next few days...again.' he thought sadly. Putting the food shortage behind him, Hibiscus walked out of his house with his bags and began trotting up the road towards the town hall. Since unicorns didn't want any of the other tribes in their castle, and only pegasi could access the clouds, all meetings were held there. Chancellor Puddinghead didn't like the idea, but had to go along with it anyways. The town itself was about a mile away, so the walk would take about half an hour. 'So if the tribal meeting begins in an hour, I should arrive with about fifteen minutes to spare. Enough time to put together my argument.' he thought as he walked along the dusty road. Looking into the air, he saw absolutely no clouds or pegasi. 'Those pegasi are shirking now? This system is never going to work...' he thought with a sigh. It was certainly going to be a long day.
After he had left Snow earlier, Ashes had went ouside, regardless the cold air and the snow, To take a time to think. He wasn't that high in the hierarchy, but still, he felt like he had to make something about the food. He had an idea: He could go south and steal some of the Earth ponies food! Should he tell Snow about this? 'Maybe i should, but i could also make him a surprise and help him with the food problems... But stealing their food could also get me in trouble.' He tought about the Earth ponies and wondered, 'If they can grow up some food, why couldn't we grow our own?' Ashes ran inside and searched for Snow, impatient to share his new idea, and maybe save the unicorns from starving till death.
Snow finally made back to the castle to gather the representatives when she saw Ashes searching around impatiently, "You looking for somepony?" Snow asked. "Nevermind, the meeting is soon, and your the last representative, now, come with me."
Hibiscus watched as two unicorns wandered into the town hall. He had nothing against the unicorns, except that they were stuck up snobs. Wandering into the building, he climbed the stairs by the enterance to reach the higher platform where the rest of the earth ponies who bothered show up were standing. Most of the other earth ponies stopped attending after they realized that it was nothing but mindless bickering and accusations. Hibiscus took his place at an empty corner. "Let the show begin, I suppose..."
Snow cleared her throat at the table, "Do to circumstances, I will be the head representative on behalf of the unicorns tonight. I would bring some things to the table right now, A. That the unicorns are without food as our shipment was attacked and destroyed, B. I've been hearing that some pegisi and unicorns have been attacking earth ponies and their crops and I wish that the leaders promise to do their best to try to stop this, as if the earth ponies can no longer send food, we all starve, and no pony wins, and C. I would like prefer it if this meeting for once went without useless chattering and arguing. thank you."
"hmmm...... i see the unicorn representatives but i don't see the earth pony representative i guess i'll wait to see what happens then seeing how the meeting hasn't started.The only way i can tell whose representatives is by if i've seen them before during my fill in's for Ice who has me fill in more towards the winter when we need the snowflakes *Sigh* story of my life."
Hibiscus looked at the ponies around him, but most of them backed off. Apparently, unicorns scared them or something. Sissies. He turned towards the other ponies and said. "If it's not too much, I would like to represent us today. I have a few points I need to mark off." They all nodded at him with agreement. He turned to walk down the stairs to the main platform at the bottom. As he walked past, he caught a few whispered comments such as "Hibiscus is pretty intimidating! Should I ask him to put my topic down too?" and "Let's see how the drunk fares against those stuck up unicorns. I bet he won't last five minutes." The alcoholic comment annoyed him, but he let it slide. He walked to the center of the room and stood on his end of the table. Trying to make himself look as large as possible. When he felt comfortable, Hibiscus announced "I, Hibiscus Flower, will be representing the earth ponies at tonight's meeting. If there are any objections, I will hear them now." There was total silence. He smiled to himself. Just as planned. Now he just had to wait for the unicorns and pegasi to get situated. Looking at the pegasi side, he realized they had no representative yet. 'They better choose one soon.' he thought. 'I don't want another hour long session of deciding who will represent.'
"I guess i should get on the pegasi representative side don't want other ponies having a long boring hour of them discussing who will be the pegasi representative or have you seen them.I the pegasi representative is here Cal Bulguarin residing."
Thresh paused outside the chamber door, hearing sounds drifting out underneath. She cursed under her breath, unsure if she should enter so late...a traffic jam on Clearwater Bridge had made the journey far longer than it should have been, and now it would be one of those awkward moments. Just what she needed.
Hibiscus looked towards the new arrival. He seemed moderately inexperienced. 'I'll rip you apart, you thieving pegasus.' He thought maliciously. Out loud, he said "Without further delay, I would like to begin this meeting." Before either of the ponies could speak, he slammed a hoof on the table and pointed directly at Cal. "Yesterday, two pegasi stole an entire basket of food from me! They just up and took it without any sort of reason! I even think one of them planned on electrocuting me with those damned thunderclouds of yours! What are you teaching your foals these days that makes them think this is right!? I'm short enough on food as is, and now I'll have to spend the next day with nothing. What do you have to say about that?"
"My Dear friend Hibiscus if i heard you right.Those two i saw what they did but they left before i could stop them. Also we teach our Foals how not to steal,mock or do anything to any other type of pony those two are always causing trouble with the other pony tribes so i would like to say from our entire city of pegasi we are sorry for what they did.
Ice finishes over 100 snowflakes and reads his clock. It shows that the meeting has already started as he gives a gentle sigh then gets back to crafting snowflakes. "I hope Cal remembers to bring up the rainbow factory to them... i want to prevent that as much as possible" Ice mutters to himself as he crafts snowflakes.
Hibiscus raised his head. "The fact that you thought about punishing them, and failed in the process, only elevates your stupidity. Besides, yelling at those two will not bring my food back. It is currently digesting in the bellies of those ungrateful mongrels. I'm sure you understand you must ACT to get things done!" Upon saying. 'Act', Hibiscus raised one of his forelegs and swept it across the table for emphesis. Many earth ponies and pegasi began whispering words unknown to those at the table. The unicorns stayed completely silent.
Thresh slowly crept over next to Hibiscus, and sat down quietly, as if she could avoid any sort of detection by avoiding fast movements. Luckily, the older Earth Pony seemed to be in a tense discussion over Pegasus etiquette with the Cloud Representative. Incident avoided. Thresh:1 World:0
