Well, let's just say better than yesterday. And I have three straight days off, so I can relax a bit. How about you? By the way, is it vain that I keep listening to my This Day aria cover? I'm just pretty impressed with it.
Gene Wilder is awesome in the original movie. Mrs Gloop: Somebody do something! He can't swim! Willy Wonka: *stares at Augustus* Help. Police. Murder.
Ive never understood people's resentment of Johnny Depp in the remake. How exactly is one supposed to match Gene Wilder's performance? It's simply perfect for the character and Depp was simply the best for the job at the time. It's kind of like comparing The Karate Kid to its recent remake. While I loved the guy who played Mr. Miyagi, Jackie Chan did an excellent job playing the character. Though I would have much preferred a different actor to play the kid, the one they had annoyed the hell out of me. Good movie regardless.
I can't say I never seen the new one. I just loved that other guy. The movie it self was stupid. I thought Jackie Chan made a wonderful replacment miyagi
The only problem I had with the new Karate Kid, and the thing that kept me from ever watching it, was that it had nothing to do with karate. It was kung-fu. Why didn't they call it "The Kung-Fu Kid"?
because Karate Kid just sounds better. Who would watch "The kung-fu kid" I wouldn't because it sounds terrible.
Who cares if it sounds better? It's not karate, plain and simple. That's like someone saying they'll air Friendship Is Magic and instead airs G3 ponies. What does it matter, right? It's all ponies.
SUDDENLY Anime. Started watching lucky star a couple of days ago, can't seem to stop. I'm turning into Testy :ahh:
Johnny Depp is a great actor and Jackie Chan is a great martial artist. When they wanted to remake the movies, they knew that they'd have to get some of the world's best actors to get anywhere near the perfection that the original character was. I think they did a decent job.
Hey guys. Just got done with chemistry, which never fails to depress/stress me. I really need something to calm me down...I feel super stressed. Like, imagine Twilight Sparkle suddenly realizing that she ALREADY had FOUR assignments late to the Princess, intead of just the POSSIBILITY of ONE. That kind of stress. :/ Fortunately, I am quite experienced at keeping it all inside and letting it totally wreck me for the next 12 hours. And also at deadpan humor. I feel like ranting, but it wouldn't help me very much.
Then why not reboot Karate Kid with KARATE? They're both martial arts, and all martial arts are obviously the same, right? Who cares about the hundreds, if not thousands of years of history behind them. No one will notice that kung-fu is not karate.
