I might be able to help. Usually you have to roll a die (a d100 to be precise). This roll is added to your general Knowledge score (you can see this on your character sheet). Sometimes, if it's something obvious ("What is that creature? Oh, it's a griffon.") a die roll won't be needed, but you can make one to learn more about whatever it is you're observing. It's really at the GM's discretion.
TimewarpVortex is full of rules that when people hear them, they end up saying; "that makes sense." It's not one of those games where people have to say; "well, why is it like that?" Like how the different factors come into play in a D&D "to-hit" roll. It took me some digging and contemplating to figure out why armor class gained bonuses from not just the ability to dodge, but also the quality of the armor. It's not just to-hit, but also to penetrate your opponent. Really it's just "to damage." Some types of real armor, almost all real armor really, don't fully stop blows, but they ensure that the impact is not lethal. This is why in TwV, armor does not make you harder to damage, it just gives you a great defense boost. Armors like plate can give you quite the boost, but weapons like the Estoc were made specifically to penetrate plate armor with a powerful enough thrust, so using such a weapon would reduce the effective defense of the armor. Plus, padded armor, (a gambeson,) wouldn't stop you from taking damage... it would just make sure the first sword you take to the side wasn't your last! The tightly woven wool and fabric would stop most of a sword's momentum and make sure you'd just end up with something you could get stitched up and rest off. *Rants about other RPGs for hours.* Edit: For anypony wondering, I was out like, all day last night.
What? I don't get it. How were you out all day last night? Never mind. It's probably just me. :derpe:
Because I am using day as a scale of time, and night as a position of the sun in relativity to my placement on the surface of the planet, rather than using both to determine day or night. Rather day as in "my 8 hours at home." *Saps all the fun from your humor like a robot.*
Ah, I see. So you used "day" as a measurement of time, and "night" as the time during which the sun is not shining on the area of the planet on which you reside? That seems like a legitimate explaination to me. Similar to using a plural word as a singular noun, because while the objects which the word describes are not singular, the word in itself is singular if used as a noun. ...never mind. UNCLE! UNCLEE!!!
That's the most random reference i've never seen. Even if Pinkie Pie would've said that i wouldn't understand.
Well, most things Pinkie Pie says don't make much sense. And to be honest, I have no idea what I was doing there. :derpe: I think I was really tired.
I love how I have only now just figured out a decent personality to my character. RPing has never been so amusing.
Since the RP is led entirely by Eight Star, who has stopped posting momentarily, then the RP cannot continue without him.
What Legion said. We're all stuck in positions where we need a GM to give us a die roll or tell us what's going on. It's how this RP seems to be structured...
Mane problem with having a single game master is that if they dont post for too long the entire RP will die...
News: He's here. I mean, he's at work. I'll give him a poke when I get the chance (we don't work in the same building anymore. ) Edit: I'd continue it myself (i have dice and everything) but I don't know where he wants it to go from here.
Ok. Well if we get a GM post before the post time before it counts as Necro happens it should be fine
DOUBLE POST I was just talking to Eight Star and he said that he would respond to alla y'alls during his break. He was out of state, tending to a horse. The horse is better.
