I've been watching The 90's are All That on TeenNick and i was wondering, what was your favorite old school cartoon before this new generation of cartoons? Mine are Doug, Rugrats, CatDog, and Thundercats. ^^
Tom & Jerry. But why is this here? Like, it should be in the media/TV shows forum. Oh well, I'll leave it here.
Scooby-Doo, Popeye, Pink Panther were my favorite really old school ones. Others that I qualify as old school are Angry Beavers, CatDog (YES!), Animaniacs, and Samurai Jack (AKUUUU!!!) However, there is one cartoon from my childhood that rises above the rest: Courage the Cowardly Dog. I remember screaming in terror the first time I watched it, but I wanted more. That cartoon was sheer brilliance.
Where the heck do I begin? Nick: Rugrats, Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold, Angry Beavers CN: Dexter's Lab, Dragon Ball Z, Courage, Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, Powerpuff Girls, Cow & Chicken Disney: Pepper Ann, The Weekenders, Recess, Fillmore!, Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, Talespin, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers Other: Pokemon, Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Sonic Sat AM, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic School Bus
Courage gave me nightmares. I remember four particular moments that I just could not watch as a kid. Now, I'm okay with three of them, the other one still freaks me the f*** out: 1. Ramses: This was my first episode and it wasn't a good introduction. Some freaky mummy done in bad cgi with a horrifying face and a creepy voice...DO NOT WANT! 2. Fred the Barber: Mainly because of the music 3. You're not perfect: There's one moment in the episode "Profiles of Courage", where Courage is dreaming creepy stuff. Out of nowhere, a creepy blue fetus thing looks directly in your soul while whispering, "you're not perfect..." I screamed louder than Courage. 4. Courage in the Big City: I still can't watch this one. Courage is in an apartment building, where he opens a door and sees a little girl playing a violin, her back to you. What followed gave me a heart attack.... Sorry for rambling, I just really loved Courage....
LOL I absolutely love all the episodes. ^^ But i think my favorite one is when Courage and Eustace go to a burger place and the pig wants to eat Courage. That episode makes me want a burger. XD
Hmm..... * Tries to remember. * Tom & Jerry, Pop-Eye, Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh, Dexter's Lab, and probably several others I can't quite remember.
Other than Popeye, which was my favorite, I really liked Courage the Cowardly Dog, Sonic X, Pok'emon, BATMAN Magic School Bus, The Pinkie and the Brain, and The Animaniacs. .....I just nostalgia'd HARD! Now I have to hunt these shows down......
I'm still terrified of eggplants. Courage the Cowardly dog was one of the scariest things I've ever watched. No lie.
Oh wow, I lived on cartoons growing up. Wait, who am I kidding? I still live off cartoons. Some that I enjoyed were The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Thundercats, He-Man, everything Looney Toons, Tiny Toon Adventures, Scooby Doo, Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragonball Z (along with some of the later series, but I can't remember all of the ones I saw), Sailor Moon (that's right, Sailor Moon and MLP:FiM! I'm such a manly man!), Rurouni Kenshin, Tenchi Muyo!, Invader Zim, Freakazoid!, Rocko's Modern Life, Doug, Hey Arnold!, KaBlam!, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, CatDog, Beetlejuice, The Addams Family, Courage The Cowardly Dog, Johnny Bravo, The Angry Beavers, The Powerpuff Girls, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, Rugrats, The Wild Thornberrys, Rocket Power, As Told By Ginger, DuckTales, and I'm sure there are a bunch I'm forgetting.
