Has a song ever made you cry? Or at least shed a tear?
Because if no one else does, then I must be one messed up individual. o_O

Muse's Exogenesis does it for me every time.

Part one makes me think of a person crying out for help, they're lonely. Which I can connect to deeply, for whatever reason that is.

Part two then gives me the impression of a person finishing their own legacy, death is involved by the way. But it also gives me the thought of mourning a death as well. I don't know, call me sappy if you really want to.

Part 3 is the most powerful in my opinion though. My eyes tear up at the very least every time I listen to this. Ahhh, seriously I can't even describe it fully. My best at describing it is what is my latest short-fic on FiMFiction.
I just can't explain it. It's just... Beautiful. It's definitely funeral worthy for me. That or a totally unfitting song which I am yet to discover.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c901NUazf3g&feature=youtube_gdata_player if you want to spend 15 minutes of your time (in audio)

Anyway, am I the only one like this?

I'm glad I'm not the only one then :p

I don't really listen to that stuff, but I sometimes do listen to Old American music like Folsom Prison Blues by the one and only Johnny cash.

Some stuff from musicals really gets me choked up. Specifically the last few songs in Next to Normal. Kinda different but I know that feel.

I have cried a few times during songs but it's never a song by it self that makes me cry.

B.B.B.F.F. really took me by surprise when it first played as it perfectly reflects the relationship me and my little sis have. And towards the end, I started to tear up, but had to hide it because we were watching together.

Doesn't bring me to tears but brings strong emotions to me.

Lost Odyssey's first dream sequence did tear me up. The power of words and music can do a lot:

Same thing happened with me, though no tears were shed but the feeling was there. Also kind of different in that my brother is older than me.

I'm sure there's been a few song make me shed a tear but more often than not I just the feeling.

BBBFF and its reprise almost got to me. I have an older brother who joined the army 2 years ago, so it was easy to relate to Twilight. The reprise especially hit close to home, as I will be well into my 20s by the time he is finished. Though I did unintentionally made him a fan of the show, so I wonder what how he felt during the song, especially since Twilight is his favorite of the main six.

(Okay, not much really got to me before ponies, so it's likely that a lot of this may be pony related)

Well, I once heard this song called "Dreaming with ponies", which I listened to, thinking "Hey, that's... Nice." Once, it played on shuffle (Had to add it to my playlist), and listening to it, I thought "Listening to this whilst reading My Little Dashie would be just... Just manly... " for some reason I teared up just thinking about it, so some time I'm gonna try it and see how much I can make myself cry.

Also, BBBFF kinda got to me, so yeah, i got a bit choked up at that I guess... Take it, replace the books with computers, and you have my childhood.

Yeah, but probably not any songs anypony knows.

Most of the songs that make me "cry" (my version of crying is tears coming to my eyes and wanting to be alone; sometimes I think I've forgotten how to cry) are Christian songs, but a few Ponies songs have made me tear up a bit as well, like...err...ummmmm...ah! Wait, no... Well, I guess the closest one was BBBFF. Not really from any personal stuff, but just feeling for Twilight after she was rejected by her brother.

I've never had a song on its own make me cry (save for maybe Long Way From Equestria), but there are a lot of songs I associate in my mind with sad memories, and that usually triggers it. For example, back before I found MLP and my life was pretty much a living hell, I would listen to the song Hate Me by Blue October, so now whenever I listen to it I think of the hopelessness I felt then, and that can make me lose it.

But then theres a sort of mood I have to be in. There are time i almost try to make myself cry, by listening to a playlist specifically designed to screw with my emotions, or looking at an extremely sad picture or story. I have an entire folder devoted to this, and most of it is pony-related. Ponies have become my world, so anything sad relating to them is enough to make me break down.

So, to make a long story short (too late :derpe: ), yes.

Never cried to a song by itself. However, there were quite a few where it enhanced a sad moment in games, movies, and real life. So now when I listen to those songs I can shed a tear. Whenever I'm alone I try to open myself up to tears more. It feels good to cry every now and then. I'm trailing off topic here, but in the show the things that usually get me are the things that catch me by surprise. An example would either be Fluttershy crying her eyes out in "Hurricane Fluttershy" or Twilight becoming discorded/corrupted in "The Return of Harmony P2." Manly tears were shed that day.

Dream Theater's Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence got me a couple of times. The high notes of one of the guitar solos evoked such emotion in me I teared up. It also sent a chill down my spine from the beauty of it. That's right. The music itself moved me to near tears.
