Well I didn't really tell my family... It all started when my little brother (4 years old) saw a pic of RD on my iPod then he told my older brother (18) then he told my older sister (16) then they kept asking stuff about the pic... Then a few days later my older sister took my iPod and basically just went through it and looked at EVERYTHING so stuff like my MlP songs, pics, searches, And my YouTube searches. So then they told my whole family (my family is 8 people) so well then my dad told me that I didn't have to hide it. Then a few days later I had started humming some of the songs kinda often, so that dinner he asked me some stuff about bronies and does it mean I'm gay, and I just said NO i'm NORMAL and I told him that most bronies aren't gay and have girlfriends. And then it all kinda went back to normal and my dad dosn't really care that I like MlP but you know everyone makes fun of me a little bit but I just ignore it Feel free to tell your story!
I kinda just changed my PC's wallpaper, and waited for them to notice. Simples. But my family now thinks I'm gay... Which is kinda awkward So... gays aren't normal? :Trollestia:
I don't think my parents know. They saw me watching an episode on TV but they just thought I was only watching it to stop my sister watching her programmes. I haven't been a situation where I needed to tell them but I wouldn't mind telling them if the topic was brought up.
My sister entered my room and saw my computer background. After that, my mum found out while I was with my cousin and aunt. I had bought a T-shirt at Hot Topic that said "BRONY" and showed the silhouette of RD with her cutie mark. I explained it to her when I got home. I think she just informed my stepdad, who occasionally messes with me sometimes about it but not a whole lot. My mum wanted to get into it but lacks the energy to simply watch it. ~_~
My mom walked into my room when i was watching it. Didnt care at all...and my brother watches it with me. My dad is fine with it..im trying to get him to watch it.
Family just thought it was a little childish and roll thier eyes at me XD Little sister likes the toys and sometimes watches the show with me C:
Same way I tell them everything else, just let em watch an episode with me. My mom likes the show well enough, so does my little sister (even though she won't admit it, cause you know were mortal enemies & anything one of us likes the other has to hate, lol.) My dad is overall apathetic, although he still does poke fun at me for it every now & then, but not in a cruel way, just a light-hearted jab.
Don't wanna start a big debate here (cause I hate political/social/religious debates) But normalcy in and of itself is a fallacy. Whats normal to one person is not to another. Things like Normal & Weird are nearly flawed human concepts. Personally I hate both of those words with a passion. While true someone having a sexual attraction to their same gender is illogical from the standpoint of nature dictates you need a man & a woman to pro-create. Humans are hardly logical creatures. So really no reason to bash same-sex relationships any more then any other type of relationship or person. But i'm bias as I have a natural disdane towards all mankind, lol. Also I hate how modern society has taken words like gay and turned them into negatives, you know in the 1940's that word meant happy. But thanks to modern society it means something else. Just like *squee!* used to mean cigar. Ahh I miss the old days when the english language hadn't been bastardized. (Seriously its the whole gay thing that they can't show a lot of old Disney movies like Three Caballero's and such on TV, because they use that word, even though it means happy and ugg... sorry sorry sorry, I know i'm getting off topic. but yeah.) Anywho back on topic, honestly most of my fiends and family members are pretty cool people so they don't really have any hostility towards me being a fan of the show, I only seem to get bashed for being a Brony online at a few places ironically, lol. P.S. I'm straight by the way, just so yeah now but yeah, not replying to your post out of insult, just, really like to ramble. LOL.
S'all good brah. Like I said, I just like to make excuses to ramble on about stuff. lol. But yeah getting back on topic. I think at this point being a Brony or a Pegasister really isn't that big of a thing anymore, I mean its kind of like anime fans or hardcore gamers or furries or what not. When its new its seen as freaky, but eventually people are just kind of get used to it, lol.
Yup but in family you can't hum any of the songs without someone asking you stuff And along with the humming I also learned the theme on the piano so... Ya basically all I can do around my family is watch episodes of it.
I watch anime both shojo and shounen and hentai. MLP added to the list doesnt do ****. They know I'm a culturally diverse trivia sponge/writer only thing cool you can do with a piano is playing some touhou. MLP is for singing, so you better sing that damn heart out and break some hearts with it too.
I... Have'nt told them... Too scared if I'm honest as my dad is kind of a hater... My mother would'nt judge me but everyone else...
My mom has now gotten used to be being a Brony. To the point she called my cell phone today cuz she saw MLP on sale in the superstore : D (Got a 2.99 Pinkie Pie miniture btw <3 ) ^WINNING
@ceresbane ya I guess your right, but there's just one problem I live in a family of... well ALOT and u can't sing it anywhere without being heard... But then again they've heard me playing it on the piano so... Idk

I haven't told anyone, I tend to keep my hobbies to myself. I don't think anyone would really care/mind save my dad who is rather old school when it comes to this kind of thing, but even then he wouldn't hate on it, just rib me, a lot.
I just told them individually and they don't seem to mind. My brother and his girlfriend watch it too and my sister got me a Rarity and Applejack toy. We're all grown up so nothing immature ever goes down. 22, 24, 25, 29, 34. My dad is the only one who doesn't know, but I only see him once or twice a year.
