I'm a guy and I refer to myself as a pegasister to mess with people. But really I'd rather just call everyone a brony. Everyone is a bro. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
you make the bronies that fought at /b/ proud good sir. you remember that THERE ARE WOMEN ON THE INTERNET. only guys or little girls (in the head if need to be accurate)
Bro is a gender-neutral term and so is brony. Calling someone a pegasister is just a way of dividing the community up, which is pointless. I'll call someone a pegasister if they want to be refered to as that. However, I still think that if you enjoy the same stuff, you should be part of the same group.
Brony rolls of the tongue like an olympic diver. Pegasister has an assault course of phonetics in the centre that makes it a chore to garble out, in comparison. "Peh-gah-sis-tah" is a lot of syllables.
If people want to make a fuss over a term like bro then I'm gonna demand to be called the first male pegasister. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
I don't see a reason to cause a fuss over it, Brony -Bropony Pegasis-Pegasister, seems to work for me, I mean were all brothers & sisters in ponydom lol, so overall it doesn't matter who calls who what I guess, but i've used both terms and never found trouble with either so far.
I really don't see why is such big fuss about this. talking to female fan of fim: hello, I'm Yeti, what's your name. *insert random talk*, she: I prefer Pegasister/Brony. ok *continues to call her how she prefers*. (even dough in reality, I usually like to call people by their names more). as in in general, well, I'd says pegasisters, or female breonies, it really doesn't matter, what it matters is that we all know what we're referring to, after all, on end of the day, we're all bronies/pegasisters, or in simple, we're all mlp:fim fans, no mater how we like to label ourselfs. In spirit of fandom, label isn't important, what is important is what's under the label.
i just hate forced memes. i mean parasprites as trolls? parasprites gain numbers, not strength like trolls. changelings are much better for this since they feed on the attention and we all know trolls associate attention with love.
Okay, that's your opinion. Personally, IDC. People blow this stuff way out of proportion. If it's really about the syllables, then I agree, Brony is easier to say. I think it's more often about the hypersensitivity to sexism though. Calling a female lover of MLP a pegasister is not sexist in any way. I think that people have this all backwards. People will say, "There is no difference between men and women!". However, that is not true. Men and women are as different as day and night. What people should be saying is that men and women DESERVE EQUAL RIGHTS. I repeat, they are not in any way similar aside from the fact that they are all human beings and deserve equal treatment. Calling someone a pegasister instead of a brony is only offensive if you think "brony" is somehow better than "pegasister", which it is not. Sorry to go on a rant like that; I know that it usually only serves to stir things up, but I just had to share my views. I am not trying to force them on you, so please don't take offense to this...
I really dislike that it's a "female-only" name. I LOVE the pegasus race, and as such, it just seems like a jerk move that only the girls get to be pegasi. I don't hate earth ponies, but I don't like being one, or, being called one. I've always been one who loves the sky. So, maybe if they can come up with a male version that doesn't suck... Or, if they stop freaking out when you wanna be called "Pegasister", then I'm all for it. As for now, I go by "Pegabrother", or "Pegasister". And yes. I am male.
I'll just let people call themselves what they want to call themselves. If a girl FiM fan wants to call herself a pegasister she should call herself a pegasister if she wants to call herself a brony she should call herself a brony. That is all.
I'm a girl, and I call myself a brony. Like Echoax said, everybody is a bro. Besides, you won't find a shirt that says "Pega-sister" on it.
I wonder why there's not one though? Not that I would buy it because i'm a guy but still I wonder why?
You can find shirts out there that say pegasister. Trust me, this is the internet. As far as the term itself goes, I think it sounds kinda dumb, but you're free to call yourself whatever you want.
