A fun little Idea I had today after watching "Baby Cakes'' This morning and celebrating Mothers day. Basically, One question i've always had about Pinkie Pie is her relationship to the cakes, we know she lives with and works with them at Sugar Cube corner, but i've always wondered, since Faust herself has said that while the ponies have no actual ages in the show but are the human equivalent (at least mentally) to teens 12-18, does that make the Cakes Pinkie Pie's legal guardians? I mean we from what we know of her past, I don't think its to far fetched to say living on a rock farm was obviously not the best upbringing for a pony who's talent is parties. So yeah did she have a falling out with her real parent? How did she meet the cakes? Would they be considered step parents to the pink pony, or just employers? And most importantly, anyone else besides me want to see this explained in the show? But yeah theres my question, so now I guess ...DISCUSS!
I always thought that she left her farm to find a job where she can bring happiness to people. She arrived at Ponyville and she met the Cakes, who she befriended. They offered to teach her how to bake, sort of like an apprenticeship. So, Pinkie works at the bakery, learns how to bake, and is given a room to stay. That's what I think anyway.
Hmm, makes sense I guess. Still would be nice to see how see came to meet the Cakes if they ever did another flashback to fillyhood episode for the mane six.
Perhaps she gets room and broad free for working for them, with a little bit of money on the side? It seems pretty legit, her ability to bake and sunny persona fit right in with the image Sugarcube Corner wants.
Agreed. I do have to wonder though if Pinkie Pie ever did get into any actual trouble (like prank the mare and get thrown in pony jail, lol.) Who would come to bail her out, her birth parents or the cakes? Also yes I know its a silly what if, but just roll wit me on this, lol.
I'm unsure exactly why, but I've always seen the cakes as Pinkie's Aunt and Uncle. Perhaps Pinkie just lives with them because she wanted to get away from the rock farm and its dullness, and the town of which her Aunt and Uncle lived seemed to fit. That's what I believe happened.
