This seems to be a fairly split view in the fanbase so I thought it would be fun to talk about.

Overall what is your view of clop (r34) art pertaining to MLP or sexualized art of the characters be it in their normal toon forms, as anthro's or humans?

    I guess i'll start.

I would say i'm honestly bi-polar. I can fully admit I'm a fan of SS2Sonic's MLP artwork. I also like some of Slugbox's stuff. But thats really only because they have drawn the characters in anthropomorphized forms. Also find some o John Joesco's art of the MLP characters as humans rather interesting.

As for rule 34 in general though, not a huge fan of it since I find it for the most part to be a huge bastardization of the cartoon & anime characters we grew up with.

I guess what i'm saying, I don't mind sexy artwork of fictional characters, or even MLP characters, I just dislike the stuff that goes way to far with it to where its just flat out disturbing or cringeworthy (as most of rule 34 is.)

So I would say to a certain degree its OK, but there comes a point to where it just gets disturbing and in bad taste, and at times can leave you wallowing in the fettle position on the ground for hours in a state of shock, lol.

Well, on furry pony's I'm kinda netrual, and some clop art I've seen has grossed me out and disturbed me while others just get a "Eh, could be much worse" reaction. As for humanized pony's, well, depending on how their done, I like them. Especially JJ's art, he does the best humanizations IMO.

I could care less about what an artist draws. Since slugbox has stopped drawing ponies I've kinda lost some intrestest, but as long as cteno is around I'll look at his art.

The only thing that bothers me about clop is that DHN artist of the week is always some way involved with clop. Just once I'd like a non clop artist to be interviewed. Also it seems the clop artist tend to be more popular. I draw ponies, but that last thing I'll do is draw a clop picture. I have no desire to do any.

My only negatives about it are people looking down on it and it's popularity. Other then that it's there and I don't really care unless slugbox or swaetshrit draw it. Not even sure if swaet does clop art.

Really I had no idea, but then again I don't visit DHN as often as I do EQD. But yeah, thats ahh..interesting to know.

But yeah ironically (ok not really ironic) one of the things that gave me the idea for this thread is related to fan-art, I was just looking for some nice Pinkie Pie or Pinkie dash art and somehow stumbled onto something called "Kinky Pie" sufficed to say it was one big "WUT DA BUCK" moment for me. lol.

But ahh yeah, as for drawing art, I sadly have the artistic skills of a toddler, but If I could draw, oh i would be able to get oh so many of the crazy ideas out of my head, lol.

Back on topic: yeah...i got nothin, lol.

I have no problem with it. I follow the ask molestia blog, slugbox, crooked trees, JJ and other artist that do clop. I open the picture and if it's any good I save it. It's still art to me, I don't care about the content. Slugbox is one of my favorite artist. I try to emulate some of his style and fail horribly.

This has been discussed several times, I believe, which resulted in a bit of a fight if I recall correctly.
For me, I don't really go out of my way to look for much art, but when I do, its the taboo art.
I am one who is totally unphased by any art, I find r34 quite hilarious to be honest, and some are actually quite well done, while most is of the low quality :derpe:
I like anthro art, to a certain degree. I think, for that stuff, its more of a case by case thing.

I don't like the fact that it is often considered that the r34 part of the community is a main part of it, like with furries.

I don't mind it, I myself don't intentionally look up R34 but of all my years on 4chan i've seen pretty bad stuff, but in all honesty if I see it on my favorite character of a TV show it ruins the character pretty bad.

as for Humanized/Anthropomorphized pony art I could care less.

R34= Don't care. People are going to draw it even if you don't want them too. No need to get worked up over it.

    Humanized/Anthropomorphized pony= I generally like it.

I don't mind cloppers, but I do mind clop. Every time I see the crap, it haunts me for about a week. Blech. So long as it doesn't pop up in google, or get sent to me, or it doesn't suddenly appear on a site (I found some just browsing my FB newsfeed the other day... :ahh:), whatever... Just keep it away from me. XD

I don't mind other R34 though, not at all- Just clop, among other things... Well, I just see MLP as being completely innocent- and seeing clop kinda screws my head up because of this. Y'know?

    Humanized? I'm not into it...

I don't mind clop, but like it better if it is respectful towards the ponies. I think these ponies having a sexuality and romantic relationships makes them even more relatable and not one bit less pure and innocent.

Sure I have seen stuff that are way to graphic for my tastes, such as that pony tentacle porn I stumbled over once, that was just pure unpleasant, which is why I normally stick to shipping. But as a whole I have no problem with clop and I have to admit to myself some of these ponies are hot, if not for their physical appearance as for their personality.

I am not really into anthro, as I am a pony purist in a way. A pony is in my view, disregarding my own sexuality, objectively more beautiful than a human.

The pictures, tbh, are mostly derpy. I've seen some, and none of them were anatomically correct for a horse. That being said, some clopfics are much better. The ones that have actual story, of course. An example of this would be Unmovable.

I like rule 34 art, but it varies based on the image presentation, art style, and intent.

The thing is, you have to separate canon from fanon. That's all it is. I like the show, but I understand that the fiction, artwork, and music reflect a totally different view or idea derived from canon, but goes far beyond. If you can't separate fanon and canon, you'll have a very difficult time appreciating what the amazing fanworks that are out there--and I'm not talking about just rule 34 artwork.

It's fine to me. There are actually some artists that I follow. However, there is a line that I do not cross. Stuff that includes the CMC or any fillies or colts gets a big NO from me, personally.

I couldn't care less what the artist draws. If it's clop, then it's either very well-drawn or crudely-drawn and hilarious. I've yet to find any that fall in the latter category.

The frequency with which these threads appear is telling. It appears we have much left to debate on the subject. Here is another dollop containing two more of my cents:

The reason why I don't illustrate clop is simple. Being an artist is like owning a swimming pool. It's a place for you to play and it only becomes more fun when you add people to it. Being that it's -my- pool, I am free to clean it to my specification. However, if I am lax or I intentionally pour foul things into the water, only certain people will feel comfortable swimming. This metaphor is precisely why I don't let my pool be dirty for others. It means everyone, regardless of their orientation or tastes, will have equal chance to enjoy my art.

All I add to this is that if we expand the metaphor to the Fandom, we get the same effect. We all want to play in this pool in a healthy safe manner and since we all have an equal share, we have the obligation upon us to make it as mutually inclusive as we can.

I draw and I've said many times, I have no problem with clop, but I will probably not draw any. Who knows what the future holds.

Now I shall make an example.

I own a rollercoaster in this example. I like loops and big drops. Some people don't like that. I'm not forcing it on them to ride it, but because of it's size it's hard not miss it when looking around.

So people avoid it because they don't like it, but they catch glimps of it while looking for other rides. Apply to the fandom and tada.

I don't mind the humanized, but the clop art I guess I don't really care cause I just try not to look at it. But what I think is that the people who make the clop art are are just stupid people that have nothing else to do with their lives.

They draw it to be popular or because they're commissioned or because they enjoy it.

I could draw clop art,i don't because I don't see the appeal in drawing it.
