I submit that Luna's guards are proof that dragons and ponies can crossbreed. Do you agree? vote Yay or Neigh! And make sure you can support your opinion.
I was going to say no, but then i looked at the eyes. So yes, i do believe they are a crossbreed of dragon and pony, either that or some disguise magic is going on...which though very possible, hasn't strictly been shown in the show yet. There was that thing with twilight transforming the rock into a top hat and such, but those were inanimate objects. So basically, until i see some transformation of living creatures, I'm going to go with them being a crossbreed. Clayton, you have my agreement.
I just think they're another breed of pegasi called dark pegasi. Either that or they're like mugwai and when you feed Celestia's guard after dark, they transform. They're awesome-looking either way. I'd like to see more dark pegasi.
I'm going to go with the uniform thing, not the half dragon thing. But ponified Drow would be awesome. Natural magic resistance would make them good defenders against unicorns...
Well there were the mustaches that Twilight gave Spike and other ponies and Luna making herself look like Nightmare Moon again, other than that I can't think of any other instances. However, I'm still going to go with Luna giving them a magical 'costume' to complete her grand entrance.
I think it's some sort of magic goin on. Also, it's probably more for intimidation. I'm sure the armor protects the same as that of Celestia's pegasi
^This. I think it's a uniform that simply matches the job. The wings are most likely just under a cover of some sort, magic or not. Being that night is often a prime time for ponies screwin' around, the presence of the Night Guard being all dressed up would frighten more then just armour. ...Or maybe it was simply a Nightmare Night costume XD
Actually there has been transformation magic. One example is the wings Twilight put on Rarity. Another is the mice Twilight turned into ponies for gala. Also, though not exactly magic for-say the poison joke changed how the ponies looked. In terms of the guards I don't know what to say. Most of that is armor but the wings and eyes are unusual. Though transformation magic is possible I don't see why luna would do that.
I like Luna's night guards. As for their wings, they could just be from a different tribe of Pegasui. I mean there are other fictional works that have flying horses with more dragon like &/or demonic wings. Maybe the Night Pegausi all have wings like that. Kind of like the Dariganian pets in that old Neopets website/game.
Going by what we've seen in the show there is no evidence of magic. Meanwhile they do have dragon-like features.
I was actully thinking on this a lot a little bit ago. Their iris are defeintly different, and the wings look pretty legit...but then I remembered the antomical differences between dragons and ponies: Ponies give live birth, carry thier foals. Dragons lay egg(s) Two vasty different repoductive systems-I don't think that a mare/shedragon would be able to concieve.
True, but on the other hand there are type of fantasy and fiction that make it where dragons (somehow) can mate with anything. So I wouldn't be surprised if a Dragon/Pony Hybrid were possible, infact I think theres already creatures like that in fiction, Kirin or what not. But yeah I don't think Luna's guards are part dragon, just simple Dark Peagusi.
