"Love and Tolerate" doesn't mean we look the other way while people kill other people, as an extreme example. There SHOULD be limits to what we tolerate. As has been said before, I tolerate cloppers, but not anything "clop". As soon as I see anything even close to that, my eyes automatically avoid it. I wish people wouldn't put stuff like that out on the internet; isn't it meant for the privacy of your own home? They might as well be stripping in public, for all the respect they are showing their fellow internet users. Of course, me sharing my opinion won't get rid of R34, but I just wanted everyone to know how I felt on the matter. Once more, I most certainly don't hate cloppers. I just wish that they would keep it to themselves.
I believe that there is nothing wrong with drawing clop or any other pornographic or explicit art. It's perfectly normal for an artist to experiment with the impulse to draw the unordinary and indulge themselves as a way to quell their curiosity. The problem here is that while it's fine to create said art, one shouldn't run around with it on display, it's a shameful part of our community and should indeed be hidden instead of praised and promoted the way it is. There are sites just for this kind of smut, people should go there specifically if they wish to enjoy the viewing pleasure. I'm not entirely pure on this matter either, though. I myself have drawn this sort of stuff in private on a slight whim, hell, if I didn't I'd merely be limiting myself by refusing myself to draw what I have the urge to, which is fine. Plenty of people will go around and parade that these famous artists don't limit the self by drawing clop; that it's the reason they draw so well. That's laughable in a strong sense. If one draws one thing almost exclusively, they're limiting themselves to everything else. I digress. This stuff is okay to draw, and it's okay to look at, and it's okay to enjoy, but it should be hidden and left on the sites where it belongs, not endorsed on sites that also contain pictures intentionally made to rupture ones heart from cuteness.
While I disagree with you slightly on some of those points, generally I think that we agree on the point that this should be hidden away in some way. And of course, as I am conservative (though not nearly so strongly as my family), I would disagree with this being on the internet at all. My family would disagree with it's existence, and while I think that would be nice, it's wishful thinking. People are going to draw it, and they are going to look at it. So I can put up with that. What I can't put up with is when it invades my personal space, so to speak.
I just think the rule R34 is stupid. And I too saw the one with the babies poundcake and pumpkincake That I wish I never saw... NASTY!
And I think the all those Disney/Nick sitcoms are stupid, doesn't keep them from existing (sadly), lol. Point is saying something is stupid does't really do much other then make one look juvenile. But yes I again shall agree drawing R34/Clop art of child characters is HIGHLY unsavory and really should not be done. I mean again, if your going to draw nasty, fetishy, cringe inducing artwork and put it up online, at least make sure the person involved with set acts in the picture is an adult or teenager, anything other then a child really, because CP & CR34... NOT COOL! Not cool at all.
It's almost inconceivable how much we think alike. I'm just terrible at putting things into words. I feel 100% the same on every point you just made.
I'm an otaku and a disciple of moe. we acknowledge the beauty of the idealised humanity of fictional characterisation. To such an extent that we do not see it in reality and moreover know that the fantasy is a thousand times better than the reality. Reality will always be a compromise towards that dream and to do so is just sad. Hence, I like loli, I like oppai, I like guro, i like yanderes and tsunderes and every other dere there is but I don't attach that to reality because the beauty of that is another beast entirely *wink. Hence I think its fine to like whatever the hell you want, sure theres some stuff I don't like but I do appreciate the craft of creating it so that it would be appealing. I mean twi and me is one of the greatest pieces of erotica I've read. I'm not into *squee!*ing but the writer really got me into the story.
@Ceres: Fair enough. Although I would say drawing ecchi/R34 images of cute human anime girls is somewhat different then drawing R34 of baby ponies, but yes in the end it is all just fan-works and not hurting anyone, aside from abit of minor mental anguish, lol. But yeah, I too am rather fond of some of the moe & loli anime gals out there. Darn you Japan and your talent at making things simultaneously cute & sexy. lol.
intertextuality stereo. MLP fim character designs clearly took a page outta the moe bible. I mean for crying out loud! you got the westernised moe character achetypes in the main 6. You got the classic moe (cute and sexy by being elegant and graceful)-fluttershy girl next door (japan's childhood friend type)-twilight southern belle (sexy gaijin)-apple jack cool tom boyish type (cool tom boyish type-childhood friend type 2... the tsundere but with 20 tsun and 80 dere)-rainbow dash happy chipper girl (yandere/genki loli)-pinkie pie rich chick fashion obcessed chick (rich chick/senpai type)-rarity and the cutie mark crusaders are not primarily moe. they're definitely designed to appeal to kids about growing up and having fun.
I will defiantly agree that Fluttershy is most likely a shout out to Japanese moe gals. As for the rest, well its not like Japan invented those stereotypes, infact I don't really know who can claim they invented the stereotypes we have seen in media..... But yeah, the MLP gals do have very appealing personality traits.
intertextuality-inter meaning between. its an exchange of cultures. its a collaborative effort. tho technically its just parody upon parody. but its nicer to think people arent stealing from each other.
True, and I agree, no one is really stealing from anyone, after all a lot of the cliches/stereotypes of people portrayed in fictional media have been around well, since the dawn of storytelling, lol. They have all just been tweaked, refined, altered, etc over the course of centuries. Back on topic sort of. Anyone else notice that the vast majority of anthropomorphized/humanized Fluttershy fan art portrays the young girl with extremely massive breasts. I mean I know why they do it, just using an established trope/cliche as we've been discussing. But it would be nice to see some Antrho/Human Fluttershy art that didn't give her giant gazongas for once, lol.
really? by her voice I've seen her in my mind's eye as a loli character. I mean I know of the apparent "classic moe" character built around mikuru asahina. But I've always seen that stereotype as bollocks and I hate it. As the big boobs always went with the older types. big boobed lolis just screams cognitive dissonance. the young, short, cute, shy, big boobed stereotype created by haruhism is just that creator's fetish. It hadn't actually appeared until after haruhi.
I think one reason a decent amount of people draw Fluttershy that way is because her voice can be compared to the English voice of busty characters from more mainstream anime like Orihime from Bleach &/or Hinata from Naruto. Least thats the explanation i've heard, lol. But yeah i've always imagined Flutes, Pinkie & RD as the more flat/small chested ones and AJ, Rarity & Twy as the bustier ones personally. If they were humans instead of ponies. .....good lord my friends were right, I really do have too much spare time on my hands, lol
wanna help me write about ponies waging war? I need a story about how changelings go to war. on that note I imagine changelings as succubii. I imagine chrysalis to look kinda like this http://aotenshi.deviantart.com/art/RO-Zheltrish-Zealotus-200828422 and normal changelings http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=58629
Hmm interesting proposition. Although i'm not sure how much of a help I would be, never really wrote a fan fic before, have some ideas myself, just never get around to em, lol. But yeah I would say if your going to do a fanfic about a war between the different tribes/species, the best thing to do would be to do a lot of (or the nessecary amount) of research on various types of supernatural and mythological beasties. And different war tactics of course. But if you've already done that, I guess the only thing left to do is decide what you think is best for your story. But yeah, I agree Chrysalis is fairly similar to a succubus. Although personality wise, I kind of see her as a fusion of Ursela & Maleficant.
Because r34 and porn aren't on their respective websites. Because looking at a NSFW site in the privacy of your own home isn't doing just that. You're suggesting we act out our own porno fantasies instead? Yeesh...no thanks. Those points don't make sense. And throwing out the analogy of someone stripping in public? That doesn't even apply hence you can easily avoid clop websites. And as for Google Images? Safe Search. Use it.
click my sig and you'll see what I've done. If you can see the member thread I've made several factions beyond Lunar and solar. cult of discord, church of harmony, Ancients of Equestria, changeling empire, cloud's dale (the ever moving city-neutral ground) and the griffin kingdom. plus some heroes like Twilight Sparkle the great and power (and immortal-known to Lunar's as the Hag witch) and Trixie the 69th. Though on the note of clop-Lunar (clairvoyent awares to those in darkness, burns up in the light) and Solar ponies (regenerates in sunlight and weaken in darkness) are different races now. wonder what will happen if the two breed? I'm leaning on the impossibility to cross breed to make peace impossible. But if interesting fiction comes out of it I'd most like switch sides. seems raping a solar mare in the dark would be the logical scenario tho.
