I have no sensible way to say this so I'll just try to keep it as clean as possible. If a dragon can do it with a chicken to make a cockatrice, I'm sure a dragon can do it with a pony.
No, the only things different are the wings and eyes. Clearly they are only 10% dragon, not 50%. :Trollestia:
Although remember that Luna was stuck on the moon for 1000 years. She could've tried to make her alliances with Celestia's foes (the dragon-folk). The other explanation is that the guards dressed up for Nightmare Night.
You can't really count Discord as a Hybrid as he is basically a demon/diety that represents chaos & disharmony. If he does have any parents, they probably look similar to him. My personal head canon, discord is son of the MLP equivalent to Chronos, if there is one, lol. As for the rest, you forgot Iron Will, who is a minotaur, which is part human part bull, and since humans don't exist in equestria your point is moot. Overall mythological creatures are what they are. But yes a Dragon could mate with a pony, its been established in other works of fiction that dragons can mate with anything. But for the Luna's guards debate, again, I & others have already said it repeatedly, simple case of DARK PEGAUSI http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc209/Yoshiko_313/Anime Pics/Animals/Pegasus/dark-pegasus.jpg Not part dragon, just a different breed of Pegasus, saying crossbreeding is part of the equation would mean that regular pegasus crossbreed with birds, which are obviously to small to mate with ponys lol.
thats the first I heard about this dragon-folk thing. where did it originate? I'm kinda writing an origin story.
note: Actually a cockatrice finds its origins ina toad and a rooster egg. Anyone besides me know where minotaurs come from? Also there's this
lol. easy dragons are reaction of medieval pioneers encountering reptiles. they returned home and plain lied to the people. unicorns? rhinos. pegusus? greek myth hydra? greeks changelings (fairies)? ancient western european. windigoes? norse mixed creatures? greek mythology (made with sex) and arabic mythology (quran and bible have these creatures and god made creatures as if they were naturally like that)
origin of comic: http://cheezburger.com/5765876736 there's also Griffons (Gilda) who are part lions and part eagles. Also, we know that physically tottaly different kinds of ponies can breed with each other, and have completely healthy baby's (baby cakes). same way can work for interspeacies edit: this came out on my little brony.com thinking of it, he accused Spike of being part pony. Technically implying that it's theoretically possible
Nice one! Though the point is Pinkie can lay what look like dragon eggs Um... maybe they're vampires? Although Dracular means Son of the Dragon
Oh lawdy, I'm actully starting to believe you folks on it. I watched the movement in Luna Esc., and it looks very authenic-Not like a cover at all. Magic I'm leaning more in favor of, but the facts you'all posted about dragons are not too far off....
If Celestia's guards (ponies) are diurnal, maybe Luna's guards (the dragon-ponies) are nocturnal. Since most ponies will be asleep during the night, Luna needs some nocturnal guards, so maybe these dragon-ponies are the answer. It would explain why they are rarely seen (ponies sleep during the night). This could also mean that there are many more nocturnal creatures in Equestria that we haven't seen. Maybe the mane 6 could meet some of these creatures in later episodes.
I'm all for inter-species compatibility, but think on this for a moment: what if, while NMM, Luna 'cursed a certain bloodline so all their descendants had draconian wings and eyes. They just choose to be nocturnal, much like myself.
