Hi, PsychoPunk! Allow me to introduce myself: I'm Quill Inkwell, and Eight Star's Apprentice/Co-GM. I mostly help out with the technical stuff and I love answering other ponies' questions. As far as starting out young, I think Eight Star will be perfectly okayi with that, although your stats might be modified a teeny bit. (Take a look at the opening post to see what I mean by stats. This is a game of numbers and dice-rolling, with plenty of room for actual role-playing) To answer you question about groups, there are currently 3 groups operating seperately in the RP. Group 1 is: Zephyr - Zephyrus - Pegasus "Rogue" Grey Knightmare - Eleven - Unicorn "Psycher" Darkshine - Perfect Melody - Pony "Adventurer" (Performer) Quill Inkwell (Me) - Emerald Whirl - Pegasus "Student" (Alchemist) Group 2 is: Jhera - Throw Down - Draft "Fighter" Tyro the Fox - Arc Gust - Pony "Strider" Legionbrony - Silver Shield - Unicorn "Apprentice" (Mage/Inventor, Primarily Mage for Now) Icetalon - Firebolt - Pegasus "Rogue" Group 3 is the smallest and cinsists of: Love<3 - LoveStar - Unicorn "Apprentice" (Specializes in Mental Effects) SaulLaski - Masquerade Butcher - Pegasus "Rogue" If I remember correctly, Eight Star wants to keep the groups managably small, only 4 to a group. Group three obviously has an opening. I'm not sure about groups 1 and 2. In group 1, Eleven's player hasn't posted in a while and I think somepony dropped out of group two, but they're in the middle of combat right now.
Quite the talented youngster. With such a skill-heavy background, it may take me a bit to figure it all together. Which will give us time to form a good group reasoning.
Yep, I've mirrored her off of myself, but I don't wanna overpower her or anything. I don't know quite what kind of 'adventuring' skills she'd need, but that's why I'd start her out young so she can discover that for herself. I'd guess that I'd be part of group 3, but if another group forms I'd be down for that as well! I'll look into the stats and study up a bit, I don't have a problem with her stats being tweaked at all. (Like I've said,) playing DnD for most of your life makes you appreciate roleplaying so much; and the best characters are built from bottom up!
Admittably, I have a fair amount of disdain towards D&D. I am developing my own game though... but I'm doing it because I don't think D&D's rules make enough sense for actual application. I started working on it back when it was AD&D2e though.
Know what we need? Myyyyyn staaaaaattttss! ...yeah. What she said. Just reminding you, not rushing you or anything. It's not like we need them righ-- BUT I WANT MY STATS!!! >< Will you be quiet so I can talk?! She hasn't used any of them yet anyways, so yeah. Whatever feels like a good pace.
Patience, young padawan. You must learn to master it. Trust me, I am impatient too, but you practically just posted. Give him a day, maybe, after you post.
Oh! Oh! I has some awesome new OC's to try out, in case you decide to put together a new Group 3, you know? Well, I think they're awesome at least. And just so you know, when I make OC's, I usually make part of the OC like me, and the other part not like me. If I'm making any sense at all. So without further babble from me, here they are! You don't have to feel obliged to make stats for them or anything, Eight Star. Name: Windborne Wake Breed: Unicorn Gender: Male Cutie Mark: Special Talent: Wind Elemental Personality: Friendly, but overly dramatic. Often imagines himself to be more powerful and important that he really is. Slightly absentminded. He can be a show-off, but he doesn't actually brag outright very much, preferring to let his actions speak for themselves. He is very talkative, however, and enjoys being around other ponies, mostly because he can show them how awesome he is. Appearance: Windblown light green mane and tail with white strips; green coat; milky green eyes. Average intelligence, fairly athletic. Has powerful magic, but is limited to using wind-related spells. Name: Endless Ensemble Breed: Unicorn Gender: Male Cutie Mark: Several sheets of music Special Talent: Can change music into magic, and vice-versa. Also, when music not made by him plays, it affects his mood, which affects his magic. When there is only his own mood, however, then the music is dependent upon his mood, and thus his magic is as well. Personality: Very quiet, soft-spoken, and gentle. He is a very caring pony, but tends to be alone most of the time due to his lack of close friends and antisocial tendencies. He is also extremely modest, and does not have very high self-esteem. For example, his singing voice is rumored to literally attract animals (yes, like in cheesy Disney movies), but nopony knows if that is true, because he refuses to sing in front of anypony for any reason. Appearance: Light green coat; blue-green tail; yellow-green mane. There is always music present wherever he is, and if it isn't originating from an outside source, then it floats lightly around him, out of nowhere, reflecting his mood. He cannot control or silence this "aura" of music. Slightly above-average intelligence, powerful magic (but affected by mood). What do you guys think? You don't have to be all like, , cause then I'll get all . Just any comments welcome, I suppose.
Cool OCs. Very green, but cool. The wind elemental would be the easiest to make a character from. :derpe:
Lol, I guess I was in a "green" mood last night. xD I know it wouldn't be easy to make a character for Medley, but I like him anyways. :derpe: He would have a hard time being stealthy, what with the constant music surrounding him. xD He might just become my favorite. Well, maybe not. Silver's still cool.
There's actually a spell in TwV called "background music" which at level 2 plays a theme medley that changes depending on what's happening.
It's basically that, except it changes based on what he's feeling, instead of what's happening. And if someone else starts playing music, then his mood changes to match that music until it goes away. It's like a weakness and a strength.
