The RP Rules and Guidelines All right. This is the slightly dry but important bit. It's good to glance over this before posting here in The Theater. The Usual - Annoying and inappropriate behavior such as: Advertising, spamming, and trolling are strictly forbidden. Several warnings may be given, after which banning will ensue. But you should know this by now. I mean, every forum I can think of has this sort of rule. The RP Moderator - Can be distinguished by the title underneath the username of the RP Moderator, which will read "Specialty Moderator". Issues should be addressed to the RP Mod; they are not to be disrespected and their word is final. If you have issues with any moderator, please send a private message to an Admin. Character Balance - Should the general consensus be that you are Over Powered (generally shortened to OP) within the RP you are taking part in, please tone it down so as to allow the RP to continue smoothly. The Game Master (often shortened to GM and is the person in charge of the RP) should keep an eye out for characters that are unfairly powerful. Similar unfair advantages of characters include: God-Modding: The Character is invincible and capable of avoiding harm beyond all reason and logic. This makes potential fights between such characters pointless if attacks are meaningless or events created by the GM to cause harm or trap said character are dodged with no explanation further than "Because they can". Power-Modding: The Character gains powers, abilities and skills when required to allow them to escape tight spots or win fights or just to appear more splendidly awesome than the original character sheet detailed. There is generally no or little explanation offered as to where and how the character gained such an ability or skill. Metagaming: The Character miraculously gains access to knowledge that definitely should not be possible of knowing. For example, a character appearing to act upon information from an OOC discussion to trap that character with a lure and so avoids entering the massive and fantastic party filled with cake, swag, rock and roll, biscuits and Cider for no reason at all. I doubt this is particularly new to any members familiar with Table Top RPG's or RP in general. OP characters can grind RP's to a halt so keep an eye on your character's abilities. If your unsure, nerf it. Respect The Staff - Moderation staff reserve the right to take any actions deemed appropriate to ensure the Theater is not disrupted or abused in any way, at any time including the locking and/or restricting access to this section of the forum. Respect The Game Masters - GMs have the choice to accept the application of any person that wants to join an RP and can ask for changes to characters put forwards, within reason. GMs are also within their rights to ask for changes to a Roleplayer's style of writing if it would benefit the whole group, often in regards to post length or use of improper English. Disputes over applications or verdicts of GMs should be discussed with The RP Mod. Another area of respect towards a GM is to wait for them to approve any character that you put forwards before jumping into an RP. Now I know, I know...I can barely contain my excitement on a good RP too but to start posting before the GM has approved your character undermines their control. Your character might have a large problem that a GM needs you to fix before you post or the character might be completely unsuitable for the RP. It's rude to jump the gun like that. Advertising Isn't Liked Much - You cannot post any affiliate or referral forum links, or post anything asking for a forum referral. Such posts will be subject to removal. Keep Posts To The Right Places - The Theater is for roleplaying. General discussion is not permitted in the In Character Threads and is generally rude to interrupt an RP with irrelevant posts. The OOC threads is where discussion should be kept too. Bare in mind that Everypony.com will not tolerate rudeness, insulting messages, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. This includes but is not limited to sexist, racial, abusive and/or undermining remarks. Keep It Clean - Roleplay in the Theater should be clean and appropriate: Clop (sexual action), gore and any other manner of NSFW content will not be tolerated. Remember, anyone can see what you write. If you have to show such actions, keep it about PG-13 or around 12a if your European. You can generally get away with allusions to gore but don't describe it in detail. Kissing and snuggling should be as far as sexual content goes.
-Zephyr miraculously rolls out of the way just in time to avoid being affected by these new rules. Thank god he can read minds or he never would have see that coming. He's now off to become an Alicorn and date all of the mane cast after his duel to the death with both Celestia and Luna which he will undoubtedly win because of his unique ability to control space and time even though he is only a Pegasus- I'm kidding though, wouldn't that be horrible? Excellent rules, bro.
We have got a swear filter for that sort of stuff but I would say 'don't go overboard'. 12a/PG-13 remember. Excessive swearing is a no-no but a little bit of 'seasoning' now and again is fine.
The RP Moderator - Can be distinguished by the title underneath the username of the RP Moderator. To help newer members, the current RP is generally depicted as a red fox with two tails that sticks out against the multitude of ponies here. This makes him easy to spot but limits the number of chickens that can be left unattended. Issues should be addressed to the RP Mod; they are not to be disrespected and their word is final. If you have issues with any moderator, please private message Foxytail - who is bright pink with a smug grin, for those that do not know. The second RP mod can be denoted as a quiet individual that tends to stick to himself. This silver colored Pegasus with a red and silver mane and tail usually keeps a silent vigil over the RP section stepping in whenever necessary. Though he is quite he likes chatting with friends and making new friends as well, not to mention he tries to make new role players feel at home in the RP section.
Now I have the David Attenborough voice going: "And here, we have the wild Rashall. A rare, quiet, silvery pegasus who resides in the roleplay section. In the herd, it is the wild Rashall's job to maintain order within the roleplay section along side, the Kitsune known as Tyro, the fox. This is David Attenborough and I will see you next time" XD
Shush, I have spotted the rare wild Rashall, a beutiful creature that will be very shy to strangers, so come on, get down.
Good rules, guys. But i still rolled 20 on my 20-ice, so i evade them. dodge. I'm still the most powerfull pony here! Mwuahahaha! No, really. Thank you for getting that OP character thing clear; But trully, nothing beats me at D&D and Pathfinder. Consider it a challenge.
a Sentinel never goes back on his/her word. i give you my word as a guardian that i shall play fair and keep it clean.
