Because I do! Explainning: semi-OCs are ponies based on existing characters with one change or another - for example, merging Harry Potter in a pony, but without crossover elements (like, if Harry was born in Equestria as pony). It's something close to OOC - (Out Of Character), but not exactly the same because an OOC is more like your vision of a character changing (mostly) only their personality, and not just a mere adaptation. I just went crazy over this. BUT... This is not a fanfiction area, so that is. This topic is for you to introduce your OC pony concept art/story. Like I am doing right now. EDIT: Fillies and gentlecolts, this thread is to help with OCs and semi-OCs concepting, only. There's already a thread for posting pony-related artwork, just so you know. BUT, you can post some images here in case you want/need to add some symbolism. Sketch: Concept art (PC): This is my brony OC, Mage-prince Bloodstone (in which "mage-prince" is not a title of nobility, is just a fancy nickname given by a demon he defeated), a mage lost in time and isolated from everything and everyone whose home is accidentally discovered by Twilight Sparkle in a fiction I am doing (poor filly, she just doesn't get peace with me...). He was sealed many years ago by a wise dragon who vanished right after. When Nightmare Moon was defeated and Luna was finally reverted to her original self, its magic reached his prison (the peak of a dark mountain, but not to be mistaken with the Dragon Mountain), and he was freed from the seal. (main reason hint: his necklace has a Moonstone) During this time, he built a small community in a volcano crater he called Lykofia city, inhabited by the strange creatures he created and calls Light Ghosts. His name (and colors, safe for the clothing) comes from two gemstones known as bloodstone. One is your old and good heliotrope, which is a dark green stone with red spots and stains, which are the colors for his mane and tail. The other is the Chinese chicken-blood stone, which is a rare gemstone only found in two regions of China and much used in arts and crafts. It provides the colors for his body. Both stones are associated with healing, goodness and protection. But heliotropes are often associated with bravery and knowledge while chicken-blood stone brings luck and prosperity. Some of his powers are associated with some of those properties. One of his primary (and biggest) skills is cure, tough his butt tattoo (I avoid using "cutie mark" outside fanfiction because it sounds too candyish) associates more into arcane magic envolving galactic powers. This is so far the only unipeg/pegacorn character I invented, because I believe they're rare as they're powerful, which means that he has enough magical power to build an entire city and create life on his own (not to mention it already sounds overpower somehow). So... What's yours?
Why not just call it "The Mark" or something like that? Actually. I have one as well. But I have never attempted to draw him. It's a western bounty hunter pony. I've had the idea in my head for some time... But only recently did I think it could be a semi-interesting comic... I've been listening to Knights of Cydonia too much. :derpe:
I have an OC too.. Starrlet and Roxanne...They're originally a dragon but I decided to draw them as ponies... anyway, Starrlet's photo is my ID here. And I can't upload some pics 'coz I'm only using my PC Tablet...
I think I did an odd version of Twilight as a human, but I think I'll keep it to myself... Pac: Butt tattoo sounds manlier. And don't worry, music inspires us all. (Tough I might admit I was watching too many penguin videos to write some fanfiction) starrlet: That's cool! Please, upload when you can.
No but now if I get some free time, I know what I'll be doing with it XD Love your mage-prince so much more likeable than the true Blueblood <.<
^This. Is. Jaret. The color of the mane and body is... well, Zelda fans should know what horse that is He has my cutie mark. I might edit him/add details and such later on though...
Well, that's Jaret - i am a male. The mane and body is just inspired by her. She's awesome and loyal!
Grey: Thank you so much! :3 Good luck with your brony. And amen to that... -.- Good thing Rarity's not a fool. Derpy: YAAAAY! for males who look like Epona! Man, I thought she was a stallion before the game descriptions told me she was a female. Jaret: Oooh, that's interesting. I have that ammount of details to Bloodstone because I was developing him ever since I watched the first two episodes for the second time, which was during late March, I guess.
I'm not big into roleplaying or that sort of thing, but I do like consistency in avatars so if someone gets bored and wants something to draw, something similar to an OC for that sort of thing (having a unique avatar) would be pretty cool (I myself aren't good enough at visual art or that sort of thing to make my own).
Indeed it is. I like writing fanfiction, but I don't find people to roleplay or help me write, so I work alone. I have yet to draw my pony version of meself (Bamboo the unicorn). I have a lot ponies to draw... xDD
I have a current OC.. His name is Kyro, he was supposed to be a Dragon, but I decided to draw him as a Pony..
well, he has an odd Cutie Mark.. I'm still doing sketches on him.. ^^ I'll post a pic of him when I get the time..
Kyro: Whoal, and odd cutie mark! I thought Bloodstone's was the only pony to have a strange butt tattoo! We are waiting... ò.óv Also, I just finished Bamboo today. I love when I have creative strikes :3 (There's this image as my photo in my profile, but this picture is bigger, so you can see more details.) Well, this is, well, she's my actual RPC. This is Bamboo, a filly with much more problems with socializing than Twilight herself. Has much of her personality, but is wiser, quieter and far more grumpy, yet a big of an airhead and a rather timid creature. A loner by nature, she passes the time either painting or sleeping at day and has the habit of walking around at night. She lives in a glade close to a village at Shandai, a Eastern mountain land of Equestria. As pretty much all locations in the country, its name comes from a real location with a horse-related word - in this case, is Shanghai (the most populous and iconic city in China, which I just noticed its name is actually pronounced "shun-high" instead of "shanguy") with Shandan (the best known Chinese horse breed, and also one of the oldest). I wanted to make a Japanese location, but Chinese sounded more fun and less complicated (and Japanese are cliché already).
Here's mine. Some of you have probably seen it already, but I don't care. His name is Steelion the farrier. He is a Pegacorn. Spoiler: Steelion I need to fix his jawline, (it looks too feminine) but I've never gotten around to it. P. S. We really need to add pegacorn to the list of genders/species. PLEASE?
Anyone else read it like that? ^^ It's just the bamboo pot and green/nature like colours! Eh, ignore me. The drawing is amazing and it seems like a well thought out character, you'll have to bring her up again somehow
