I wish i was a member yet.... Really, 750 posts for membership status is too high... edit: almost there...
Post count doesn't mean much to be honest. I'm here practically all of my free time. Yet I've only got this many posts. I've seen some members join later than me and still have more than me. Anyway, I'm getting distracted. I need to revise for my science tomorrow.
Tbh, 2000 for senior member is too low in my opinion. Junior member sounds like: "He may, or may not remain active..." I'd say 500 is more than enough to prove you're a solid member. as for Senior member, that's something you ought to deserve properly. Senior member should mean you're all 100% about this forum. 3000 posts at least should do it.
For sure, but I still enjoy having the title. Go revise! Maybe. Or maybe something like "2,000 posts after one year" and "3,000 posts after six months", just to be sure that the people who have been active but don't post much and the people who are extremely active but haven't been around long both get the same recognition.
I agree. Ideally, it would be good to have a title depending on both how long you've been here and how much you post. But honestly that's just too much effort for something as little as a title.
Tbh, i have 700+ posts, but i havent been here the last 6 months or so. What you're saying has some truth to it (shouldn't we make a suggestion thread about this...? ) On with the randomness!
Are we thinking of the same forum? Well, I think a more comprehensive title awarding algorithm is something worth looking into... even if it doesn't have any bearing on, well, anything.
Although if the amount for a senior member was to increase, 10 members would have to drop a rank in their title. Some of these 10 are now quite inactive but the others may not appreciate.
I really wouldn't care if I were them. I mean take it from someone who has 5.5K posts on another forum.
They probably wouldn't mind too much, but it's probably more hassle than it's worth to change the limits/boundaries.
I remember when I first joined, that the post count requirements were really low. It didn't take me long to reach senior member. I like the way it is now. I was set back from senior to regular member once, don't put me through that again.
I know that since the forum games stopped contributing to post counts, the increase in post counts dramatically dropped. That explains why there are lots of inactive members with high post counts.
