Electric guitars work by converting the vibrations of the strings into an electricity. The pickups (which are located below the strings) detect any vibrations because the it creates a magnetic field that is disturbed when the strings vibrate. This disturbance is converted into electricity and sent to an amplifier, where it is made louder. An amp is needed for an electric guitar because is doesn't have a hollow body to amplify the sound (like an acoustic). That's a summary of how they work. As for how they're made, that's a completely different story. Seeing the production of one has really made me respect the instrument more. But acoustic guitars are still cool.

We haven't spoken in ages, we'll have to catch up at some point Anywho, just got back from a two-day tour of Bournemouth and Wiltshire universities. Both look great, but the entry requirements are pretty high... Looks like I'll have to crack on with the filmmaking, start putting a proper portfolio together. Maybe start some animation, or even machinima... We'll see. In other news, Endless 8 isn't nearly as painful as I was expecting. Not too sure about Koizumi's speedos, but seeing Nagato in a new yukata every episode is great
