Ponibooru has shut off all uploading capabilities and will officially go dark on August 17. So if you've been keeping bookmarks/favorites of images on Ponibooru, now is the time to download them. A small sister site (http://derpiboo.ru/) has uploaded many of the high rated images from Ponibooru. So this will essentially be the 'new' Ponibooru. I hardly used it, so I'm not too sad about it. I'd like to have visited it more though and given it a chance.
The loading times on that website are worse than PS1... I can live without it. Heck, i don't even check EqD
I personally didn't use Ponibooru too often, but there are many that do. It's essentially an image repository for all things pony.
I never used it specifically, but many miscellaneous pony pics I post came from there through Google Images. Guess that means those pics will be broken now. Oh well. Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah, most of the pony macros will now be broken. Lets stick to Deviantart then. I stopped checking EqD when their drawfriend posts started to post risque stuff. Is booru being taken down due to all the porn?
The link said that it was for personal reasons. They said that they couldn't run it anymore and they couldn't trust anyone else to run it.
Just read it. So not money or pressure. Weird. Oh well, there's Derpibooru. I sure ain't torrenting the pictures. Nice to know there's a Bulk Download feature now when you search and it downloads the first 100 images and credits.
I wouldn't even recommend downloading them all. It's a massive amount of images. It's been left to the insane people that want them all. :derpe:
Meh, never used the site, so for there has only been two things keeping me sane in the offseason, reddit's r/mylittlepony subreddit, and this site.
Like RarityE said, the loading times on PB were terrible. I used it once or twice (when it did load the images), so I ain't that hurt by it goin'.
Too bad. I liked it. Gave me nostalgia over the good ol' dial-up days when all web-pages took forever to load.
Weird. All other websites I go to load instantly for me. But that one takes forrreeeeevvveeerrr to load anything.
You realize it took forever to load was because it has over 100 gigs of pictures, and half of the brony fandom trying to access it at any given moment.
Seriously, i saw this page more than anything: If you ask me, THIS is why they're closing the website. Admins probably got tired of dealing with it.
