this has probably popped up before, but I am curious. How many of you are 'out' as bronies? how many of you CAN be out? And how many are too afraid to be out? I'm out at work, but i'm old enough that nobody really cares that much. I'm old enough that it's considered quirky, but young enough that it's not considered odd. Besides, my boss LOVES to tease me about singing the My Little Pony theme while working.
When you say "out", I assume you mean showing your love for the show to other people. At school, lots of people know I'm a brony. Elsewhere, not many people know because it's never come up in a conversation. There are a few bronies in our school, so we can comfortably talk about it. Most people think that we're a bit weird but they don't do anything to actively hate against it.
There's not really any reason for me to be "out". I don't feel the need to brag about being a brony. No one around here would care anyway.
well, since I wear my pony related t-shirts once in a while, people know i'm brony. as well as avatars on skype and msn... and college forum. Also, recommended it to few people... and whoever saw ma laptop turned on.
Everyone I know knows. No point in hiding it really if that's what you're truly interested in, in my opinion. I had nothing to lose from telling people, and actually almost everything to gain.
My friends know. Thats about it. I don't hide it or anything. Just noone notices me outside school. Like, noone comments on the fact that on their facebook feeds it says I liked something pony or that my laptop has about 100 visible pony things on at a time. Or that I have a massive music collection. Noone.
If people know then they know, I don't really care. I'm not as gung-ho about it as I was 7 months ago, but that's just cause I have issues with the fadom.
I'm completely open about my broniness. And to this day, I don't believe I've ever been "hated" on for it. I get a few odd looks though. I know I'm hated for other reasons though.
I'm in the closet. It's safe here.. But to be honest; I don't think I'm brony enough to be called a brony.
I know a closet. Or at least, I think I do. He's mentioned it once or twice quietly. What a strange breed. I understand family, but friends? Do you straight out deny it?
I won't deny it. I'll tell them I seen some of it and be knowledgeable about some of the characters and say it's a good show. But I won't be caught dead wearing a pony t-shirt. It's the same thing when it comes to Anime. I watch it, and if someone ask or bring it up, I won't act like I don't know about it. But I keep it to myself. I hide my power level.
Ah. I want a shirt. But my bank has blocked my card. And no idea how I'd explain it. That, and I always have a jumper on.
Pfft I got other people watching it i got about three people in to it im pretty out there my high school made a bronies page on facebook and stuff and i buy the toys and going to make a costume for hallowen (ignore my spelling xD) and I am debating on weather to Act out art of the dress or Cutemark Crusaders song To be Honest if i watched this show during my 7th grade year i would of been so unopen about it but now ive matured enough to love the show and try to make it public as much as i can so i can get people in to the show and let them know its a great show not just something referenced as a little girl show i also have my blinder full of pony pictures xD
I tell everyone who asks. I also may bring it up if we're talking about something that I can relate to ponies, or if someone asks me to recommend them a television show. I wear pony shirts and the like, and I purchase pony products in public. My close friends know, my immediate family knows, and other bronies I associate with know. Okay, that right there was pretty funny, and it made me laugh.
My friends found out and one of them got me a Brony shirt for Christmas last year. I've worn it to school and out in public a few times and no one seems to care at all.
I've gotten a few people on the internet to watch it. I got my friend a Fallout Vault Boy Bobblehead for his birthday. I'm totally going to get him to get me a pony shirt. Anyone asks, I can say it's a private joke. I can get them that way easily.
