I thought I'd make this to see what others think. What's your favourite part of the brony fandom: the music, art, fanfiction or another aspect I haven't mentioned? Mine would have to be the music part of it. While I do appreciate the artwork and I do enjoy the fanfictions, I could spend hours listening to fan-made music. I actually prefer it to most other stuff. It's this fandom that got me to expand my musical tastes. I can now appreciate almost any music because of ponies. Originally I hated dubstep. But after listening to some of the music bronies have made, I love the stuff, and almost any other kind of dubstep. Feel free to leave any experiences/comments below.
Art for sure. Aside from some of MandoPony's stuff, I haven't really liked anything made by the Brony musicians.
The art, I love swaet and SmittyG's work. This fandom is the reason I draw. I've always wanted to create in any form. Through my high school years the few art classes I had, I'd just screw around. I'm out of school for 3 years and I did nothing. Then I stumbled blindly into a fandom I knew nothing about. This fandom is the reason I draw. I won't always draw just ponies. But it thing got me to do something, 3 years of sitting around being useless waste of oxygen and flesh, it took a group of 6 colorful ponies and people that accepted anything to change that in a matter of 2 months. I started drawing, quit and moved to music. Then I quit music and moved back to art. I've thought of two full stories. The one has been in development for 9 months and the other for like 4. Even if I never do them with in the pony time frame, I can make them they're own thing. Ponies are just the inspiration for it. The music this fandom has made is amazing, I hated dubstep, DJAlexs changed that. Tombstone owns my top 25 most played, beating Bad Religion and Leftover Crack. Two of my favorite bands I listen to for 3 years before him. He beat them in play counts. He has to be doing something right. Watching things like Balloon Party come together and the Massive Smile Project was awesome. Jackle apps Seasons Ep is freaking amazing. Only thing missing is true punk and ska pony music. The fanfic are amazing. Reading my little Dashie, I actually cried that hasn't in 6 years. Of Mare and Magic practically ripped my heart out, Past Sins was an amazing read. Cupcakes, the fan fic that terrified me to read, I gave in and read it. I opened me to the world of grimdark, That stuff is awesome.(except what xan hides) I'm confused now, why did I hate this fandom?
The art. Not just pictures, but I watch so many fan-made videos. Some of my favorites are the Vinyl and Octavia interview, as well as the Luna and Celestia playing Portal. Oh, and the 2 epic meal time ones. I do really like the Lyra and Bon Bon song someone made because they sound like Owl City. I can't draw well, but I photo-edit. It's a lazy form of art, but I enjoy it a lot. I only read 2 fan-fics which is "My Little Dashie" and the one I wrote but never released to anyone. Art Music Fanfiction

I was going to make it multiple choice, but I wanted to see what people liked the most as opposed to what people like generally.
Even though I personally only participate in the art aspect, I had to vote for music. I did not much care for music at all until ponies came about, I couldn't even tell you band names or song titles of any of the most popular songs in the last twenty years. I had no interest in it. Now because of the awesome creations by people like WoodenToaster, Living Tombstone, AlexS, Silvahound and others, I now have a broad range of appreciation for music and listen to all kinds of stuff. Of course all the art is still amazing, and the fanfictions are pretty great. Finally got around to reading Of Mares and Magic, which had me crying for the first time in many, many years. I really need to read more though, My Little Dashie and Fallout: Equestria are next on my list, and I also gotta finish Silent Ponyville. The huge burst of creativity within the fandom that spawned from this show amazes me constantly. It's just...awesome really.
So...here it is: I voted "Other". The reason I voted other is because there isn't an "All of the above." Also, there are other things I love about this fandom: The first, of course, is that fans themselves. This is the first fandom, since taking the plunge into the internet, that I've completely immersed myself in. Everypony that I've seen in this fandom have been generous, kind, funny, honest...you get the picture. I've had the good fortune to not go so far into the darker corners of the fandom to encounter the trolls and such that are said to lurk around these parts. I don't feel weird admitting that I'm a brony, and for a time, I proudly had ponies displayed on my desktop at work (since moving to my new office, I've been too afraid to mess with the computers). I've seen the ....storms and debacles, but I've been one of the ones in the background who passed popcorn to his compatriots, knowing that the storm would pass and the Love and Tolerance would begin anew. I've always had an appreciation for art, music, and literature and since joining the fandom I've begun writing fanfiction again (something I thought I'd never, ever do again). The music never ceases to impress me and what started as a meager couple of songs ("The Art of the Dress" and "Winter Wrap-up") has exploded into a playlist that is almost 200 songs. A good deal of the art that I've seen is also very well done, and continues to inspire me. So...there's my heart. Right there on my sleeve. This fandom is awesome.
I primarily enjoy the music over the other options. It's been fun hearing the musicians improve who have been going since the show started. Seeing the talent of others just now joining has been fantastic as well. There is a decent variety of different styles between all the musicians, but I wish there was a bit more diversity. It's this reason why there are still a lot of non brony musicians dominating my most listened list.
When I first saw this, I almost immediately hit music, but then I thought about it... and I decided other. To me, my most favourite aspect of this fandom is the community aspect of it. While we're far from perfect, I feel we are still likely amongst the best fandom communities out there. This forum, EPR and a number of other sites have really gotten me out of my shell, going out, meeting people and generally enjoying myself so much more that the music to me was just the beginning. You guys are all awesome and makes the work I do around here so much more worth it. So, long story short, you guys and gals are my favourite part of the fandom.
I wasn't planning on making a choice, because I just couldn't because the creativity of any kind of brony artist is amazing. Thats is until I read this. Thanks Foxy for figuring it out for me!
