Your name and your personality are very linked. I would say 'buck up' but that could be misinterprated.
Indeed. But like I said, no one would really care, and why be so upfront about it anyway? There's no real reason to advertise it. Wearing a shirt or telling people when they ask is fine, but looking for an opportunity seems a bit much. If you din't mind me saying...
I have kinda a system were if they know, I do not care, if they don't, okay, I don't care. But as I'm a football (American) player, I kinda have an incintive to not be wearing 20% cooler shirts and other merch, and other ways to be extremely open about it.
I dont really want to be out.Im not out in anyway.I just want to be left alone by the idiots that make up the majority of the planet.
I just do whatever whenever. If I see pony stuff in the store I check it out. I wear RBD sunglasses and have a pony shirt. No one ever says anything. People always stare at me like I'm a serial killer. It's been that way since I was a junior in high school. I'm like Fluttershy when I'm alone, but like Pinkie Pie when I'm with friends. I only talk about ponies when the it's relevant. Everyone in my family knows I like ponies and my brother and his girl are bronies as well. All my friends know too. I tell them why I like the show and they are perfectly fine with it. I may not represent the brony name as it was originally intended because a lot of it can seem like denial. Everyone has a boiling point. I'm still more into the show than the actual fandom. It seems the 2 are growing more and more apart. I get an entirely different feeling watching the show than talking to bronies. Since I'm being honest I still think ill of clop art since it hurts my feelings everytime I come across it. I try to avoid that subject whenever possible. The best way to diffuse a bad situation is with a smile, so:
Me, I'm out loud and proud. I quote ponies, and basically incorperate them into my daily life one way or another. I have quite the small collection of ponies
when I started to watch mlp:fim, I might have unfair advantage. Before MLP:FiM, people around me already knew that I really like cartoons, and watch them on regular biases. My avatars on forums (college forum), were always somehow cartoon related. So, everyone around me (family, friends, etc.) were already used to me (and sis) watching cartoons. So, when I started to watch mlp:fim, it was just another cartoon I watched.
It helps being in a family that loves animation, too. My older sister loves Phineas and Ferb, and her husband is a huge fan of all sorts of cartoons (although mostly older ones, like Ducktails, Reboot, etc.), so they can't really say anything. My mother loves a lot of the CG cartoon movies that come out these days. My macho dad doesn't really like cartoons beyond Heavy Metal, but he has a pronounced weakness for cute talking animatronic things like those singing chipmunks and such they sell in junk stores. And I've loved cartoons all my life, although for half of it my attention was pretty heavily directed at anime. Since about 2000, which was when I first watched Neon Genesis Evangelion and had my MIND BLOWN. In short, nobody can give me crap for watching ponies (Although, beyond some extremely light teasing, they wouldn't anyway)
i dont really care who knows im a brony. most of my friends kno and ive worn brony shirts out in public a few times. noone seems to care much.
I got two strange looks when I wore my brony shirt. Other than that, only a few of the thousand kids at my school knew what brony meant
Whats this whole "coming out as a Brony" thing people keep talking about? Were a type-subset of nerds/geeks/furries/insert word for awesomely odd person here. Its not like telling your parents your gay, although some would probably over-react/misinterpret it as such I guess. But yeah...still don't understand this, I know ponies are colorful and girly and what not, but c'mon. I guess for the sake of staying on topic though, i've never been "in the closet" about any of my nerdy habits. My friends & family know i like MLP, just like they know I like anime, comics, retro games, classic, lit, etc. Its just another hobby/interest. People who say other wise are over thinking. *given its a wonderful hobby/interest with a wonderful fanbase, but still...*
