I did read somewhere on internet that ponies are vegetarians. I believe so, yes, but I had some difficulty figuring out pony food that isn't baked goods or snacks. Could anyone help me with this? EDIT: I am talking about Friendship is Magic ponies. I haven't seen anything they eat safe for cake, pie, muffins and cookies. I'd like to know what other kinds of dishes they could eat besides baked snacks and daisy sandwiches. I know what do horses eat, but don't know how haute cuisine and such would apply to that...
Seriously? O_O Well if your not joking this seems a reliable enough source: http://www.newrider.com/Library/Horse_Care/feeding.html But yes they are vegetarians they feed on grass almost exclusively, though it'll vary between location and wild/domestic ponies. ~Thread Moved to General Discussion~
Er... I was actually talking about FiM ponies, sorry... (edits first post) I'm talking about, you know... ...Since I'm a carnivorous being, I couldn't think on anything vegetarian AND delicious AND haute cuisine enough... What's with those chefs using only meat??
In a few episodes that reference food they've generally just gone the avenue of taking normally human food (like sandwhiches) and adapting it for an animal type diet (flower sandwhiches) They've mentioned eating hay but never really shown how they go about preparing it, with how everything else is shown I doubt it's just straight hay 3rd episode, the waiter explains the menu - about the only explanation of their type of diet really to go off of
Well... They are vegetarians. So I would assume they prepare cuisine like human vegetarians do. Maybe cook them with sauces and stuff, no meat. They eat hot vegetables as well... aka, the hot sauce. But since you brought it up... How are they suppose to eat chips? :derpe:
Like we do, I believe. I did this thread because I'm writing about a character who happens to be an (eccentric) archduke, and he likes haute cuisine. I don't know what to put, because I didn't find any 100% vegetarian haute cuisine recipe. Also: LOL.
Vinyl: Beats me. And anyway, I'm an anti-vegan. Or carnivorous. And my function is to eat vegetarians.
It appears haute cuisine is basically just French cuisine based in small, yet visually and tastefully pleasing, meals - basically what people picture they think of fancy food If you look in the Cutie Mark Chronicals episode, when food is served for applejack at her uncle's (interesting that they've shown her aunt and uncle, brother and sister and grandmother but no parents) place it seems they serve their equivelant of that sort of thing.
Sure, but I don't want my archduke to starve <xDDDDDDD Also, for some very odd reason I don't know, I dislike that Orange family.
I know what you mean... They seem like snobs, eh? Anywho... I wonder what a delicacy would be for them. A bluebonnet?
EPIC WIN! Oatmeal+Vinyl: I don't think the Oranges being snobbish is my main problem with them. Actually, a character can be snobbish AND be charismatic or fun. However, the Oranges and pretty much everyone in Manehattan is pretty much... Lame... Dull... You know, they're not fun rich and stuck-up ponies, they're boring stuck-up rich ponies. Their character design, their personalities, their... Everything. Just... LAMELY BORING.
