Left? Right? Up? Down? Lassez Faire? Lassez Unfaire? Capitalist? Communist? Democratic? Autocratic? Far Left <----------------|----------------> Far Right ...................................^ ...............................I sit there. I despise xenophobia, but like capitalism. I avoid social conservatism. Traditionalism and nationalism are my sworn enemies. I am pro-EU. I believe there needs to be a way to sort out piracy, but avoid destroying any online liberties. Democracy is fun. Don't argue.
Politics, huh? Well, to say it briefly, I think any form of politics is flawed, no matter how good the ideals may seem. Take a look at such ideas like communism and the like. At first they SEEMED like great ideas, but people manipulated it to their favor. The same can be argued for Democracy. In a way, Democratics and Republicans are similar. No matter which one you vote for, wether be the lesser or greater evil, you still get evil. Our last Republican (Bush) started a war based on the idea that terrorists threatened our country, yet he was warned 52 times that a terrorist strike was immeninent. And as for our current Democratic (Obama), he has pretty much broken every promise he made at the beginning of his administration. We are still having a war, we are taxed for not having healthcare INSTEAD of having free healthcare, and it has only been in the last 4 or 5 months that Obama FINALLY lowered gas prices, and coinscidentally, it happens to be during he re-election campaign. Really, that is just my view on any view of politics. Now matter how good your leader may be, there is some tyrant or idiot waiting next in line for his turn. Really, we haven't learned anything from history, and it's countless examples of politics and corruption, which are like ketchup on fries. Rome, Chineese Dynasties, Mongol Empire, Byzantanium, the list goes on and on. ____________ That's my 2 cents.
People starting topics discussing politics & religion.....ballzy this forum....very ballzy. I can respect that.
What's a forum without a little controversy? I like it, but I wonder if it will last. :I I'm libertarian. Yeah, a lot of people don't have a whole lot of good things to say about us. I'm simply anti-corporate government if nothing else. >>;
I dislike the British government. Everytime the Houses of Parliament are shown on the news, it's just politicians heckling other politicians and they hardly ever think about solutions. This is why I don't get into politics. It's not for me.
Same here, but i'm admitingly somewhat old fashioned when it comes to political/social views so I probably lean a bit more to the right. As for modern politics, both parties in the good ol U.S.A. have become a joke sadly, if only we could have some genuinely good people born into the world again to set things right, wheres a modern day George Washington &/or Abe Lincoln when you need one, lol.
My opinion on politics, continued: The media (especially in America) has a really funny way of portraying politics. They overload you with statistics, quotes, fancy words, and official looking people who assume they know what they are talking about. It's because of this that I believe that not many people take time to study is, or even consider it. Once you decipher that smokescreen that the media throws out there, everything soon becomes clear to you. As I discussed in my last post, all forms of politics is flawed. From Democracy to Liberalism, everything is flawed. For all forms of politics is based on the idea that a leader or group leaders makes most, if not all of the decisions for the general mass, or public. Imagine your fate being put into the hands of a small group of multi-billion dollar men. Let me elaborate on this by giving you the example of the last 2 American Presidents: Obama and Bush. It is only in the last 5 years or so that we finally begin to see that George W. Bush is not the man we put himself out to be. After all, because of him we have a war overseas, and an act that was passed that violates the rights of every American. Them fancy people at Congress had plenty of power to prevent Bush from passing the acts that he was passing, yet they were passed anyway? Now why is that? Then we have Obama, who was our savior from all the mess caused from our last President. He promised us alot of things. Such things include: -More Jobs -Less Taxes -Free Healthcare -Lower Gas Prices -End the War by bringing the troops home. Now, let's go over what actually happened: -A recession that led to massive foreclosure -An act called "Obamacare" that taxes employed citizens without healthcare -Gas Prices that have only BEGUN to gone down in the last 4/5 months, no doubt during Obama's re-election campaign. -A war in Afganistan that STILL has not ended. What happened, Obama? Well, Obama's reasoning for breaking his promises was because the senate and congress prevent him from doing anything. But wait...Bush went and over-rided the senate and congress, despite a vote against his favor. So what do we have here... Republicans play by their own rules, and in the process violate and destroy other people. Democrats do nothing in their power to fix problems, and only delay the damage that comes years later. Now, for those of you saying: "How come you're not bashing on Liberalism?", there is only one thing to say about it: It's unimportant, or even non-existent, from a political point of view. Now, let's take a look at how many Liberalists have been a President of the U.S. When you add it up, you get 0. Nothing. A Liberalist that runs for President will never have more than 20 percent in the polls. When it comes down to it, Liberalists are not much different from Democrats and Republicans. They all share the same words in their speeches: "Freedom, Democracy, Liberty, and Equality". If such able leaders are giving us belief behind such strong words and statements, shouldn't their actions amount to it, as well? ____________________ Feel free to bash on me. After all, this is just an opinion.
I change my vote.I'm a rebel.None of these politicians or government things sound right to me.The politicians lie and the governments try to control everything. Like i said.This system is outdated.We need a new one.
To be honest, I don't know enough about politics to offer a full opinion. However, I am concerned by the how partisan the United States is. I think that aligning ourselves with specific political parties, only paying attention to what that party's leaders (or news channel) say, and hating anyone who disagrees is wrong. I think that it makes more sense to be an independent. To have your political beliefs, but to not affiliate yourself with any specific political party, and to not hate anyone who disagrees with you. This way, we can avoid being tricked by people in the media promoting one political party or another, and we remove one aspect of separation between us that exists in our world.
My two least favourite constitutions are the UK's and the USA's. UK's because the Houses of Parliament are set up in such a way that nothing gets done. USA's because Congress is full of a bunch of blithering buffoons.
This is what happens in the Houses of Parliament, just replace the word "dog" with "solution":
Oh, and here's what I love about The U.K: The still hold the tradition of throwing royal parties for the king and queen, who by the way have pretty much NO political power. Kind of reminds me of President's day, to an extent.
I'd do a rant on how much I hate Mitt Romney right now, but I'm much too tired. I'll just I'm an extremely liberal democrat, but I think we need a new, bipartisan friendly president. Maybe another day, folks.
I'm afraid I'm dead center as far as political leanings go. I've taken multiple tests to see where I lean and I'm always on the fence. Maybe I just have too much common sense for politics. Anyway, I find a larger dose of liberal thinking with a bit of conservatism around the edges is a good balance to have. But that's just my opinion.
I can't help but laugh. Anything involving politics is going to involve arguing. I'm a liberal, raised conservative Christian. But do I care about politics? Nah.
I stay as far away from Politics. I don't enjoy government as I look at our government is just a bunch of children who don't know what they are doing half of the time. Politics is a joke to me, sometimes.
