Alright, I want to know why you are a Bronie or a Pegasister or whatever you choose to call yourself. I'd like to know if you thought about any kind of stigma beforehand or only realized there might be one afterwards. I'd also like for you to give me your definition of Bronie or Pegasister and the one thing you'd like others to understand about you. This is not a scientific survey but it may someday end up in an article.
Just so ya know, it's "brony," bronies is plural. I, myself, am a brony because I enjoy the show. Why would I enjoy such a show, you ask? Delving deeper, I watch the show for plot and lores. Everything else is good (animation, characters, etc.) but the best of it is the lores. First episode begins with an explaination over a thousand years, how cool is that? My personal definition of a brony/pegasister is someone who likes the show. That's it. I'm sure many will tell you it is those who go by the virtues of friendship the show portray, or perhaps love and tolerance for others. Let's get real here, not every brony goes by these traits, and some are downright nasty. All in all, bronies are just creepy men who enjoy the show.
I'll be honest and say that the show has little to no interest garnered from me unless it's epic like the season finale. Sorry guys. I love the community more than the show.
-I agree with Ramza, the reason why is the community. I think if it was just the show I would be much less of a fan. also the ponies are just so cute and innocent what better reason could their be. -I knew there would be a stigma, I didn't care though thats just who I am. -well brony is a bit subjective because anyone can claim to be one. I think a real brony is anyone who can look past the fact it's for girls or for children and enjoy it it for what it is, a good show wiether your a boy or a girl. This is why the Term Pegasister annoys me. We want to prove we are just fans of the show it doesn't matter who we are. Yet there is still seperat terms, but I digress.
I am a Brony because I have allowed myself to be a part of the community. Being a Brony is really mainly about the concept of the show: love and tolerence. I mean, there is fan music, fan-art, fan-fics. But there is also a lot of teamwork and friendships because of this community. Those are my thoughts, see them how you see fit.
"watching a show about colorful ponies" You're kidding me right? LOL. Personally I have no problem with it.
Not that hard, I love the show as well as the community. And I don't think it' wrong or creepy for anybody to like a show this good. When we are thinking about it I think there is something wrong with a society that looks down on people for liking something cute and innocent.
When it comes to show/community ratio, i think i'm pretty much 50/50. I like the community because the community likes the show, so i like the show too. Does that make any sense?
You're right. It's sad when people promote hate and violence but diss something peaceful and harmless. I say Pony on dude! And yes, it does make sense.
I agree. I joined the brony force because it was gaining such a massive following, I decided it couldn't possibly suck. I tried it, and ended up liking it. Sure, at first, I was a bit skeptical. I mean come on, this isn't what would come to my mind 2 years ago if you said My Little Pony. Still, I watched it regardless of any disbelief I had. All in all, I have the fan base itself to thank for making me a brony. Also Lauren Faust.
