One of his OCs. http://www.everypony.com/forums/showthread.php?6229-The-Clockmakers-OC-list Seems kinda important, though. The game is being focused around EP and the mane characters, we're just side characters and whatnot.
That was meant for him. What he was suggesting seemed to make Karl a really important character, but the game is focused on EP and the mane characters.
Oh. Again, I understand now. I are reading about programming in Java. It will definitely not be quick (not that I expected to learn computer programming languages in a day or week or month), but I am thinking of attempting to learn to use it.
Just wondering, has it been decided WHO the mane characters are yet? Do you play as the admins? Do you go through a character creation screen? Does your party swap out with normal OCs of the populace (AKA you could have Foxytail in your party, but then he leaves and you get Cobraheart to replace him). Who will you be playing as?
I HAVE NO IDEA It would be nice to have as many characters as possible. Naturally we couldn't put EVERYPONY in the game, unfortunately, but the more characters there are that came from our users the cooler it would be!
I know my way around the Source engine, I've made/ported a few models before, and I know coding, too. So in case you need someone, I might be able to help. Maybe I could contribute my half-done Harley cannon model as well http://gyazo.com/59955cd3ab6174fb8473ee45019a53b0
Sort of... The idea I had was that it would be a collection of the staff and select members to dive into the RP worlds and help fight. I also thought it would be good idea to make all the characters split off into groups at one point to take on the enemy on several fronts, thus giving us an excuse to fill out the teams with more characters and squeeze in more worlds. What this could also do is cause alterations between different teams and their path through the game. Choices you take through the game could alter the experience of not only the group your currently controlling but also other groups. Say you didn't defeat a certain character or pulled a switch or something, then that character might go on to make things more difficult in another story, depending on what you did and what group is played first. That could work... Otherwise, the best I could come up with to make sure that as many characters was included as possible was to make a sort of multiplayer battle system where you could deck out your characters with items and whatnot, to battle each other over the web, perhaps. There's always one... I rarely believe even he knows what he's on about... However, the use of Karl....err....We'll have to see. Maybe a side mission or something... As for the Source Mod, I wish you guys the best of luck. Try a 'Hack-N-Slasher', there's not many of those for Source.
a very interesting concept if it works, you cant exactly slap a title on a game and call it epic IM TALKING TO YOU HALO ODST!. but this idea im liking and would gladly give my support to this game, even offering my crappy voice via headset
Fantasticaliness. I also get that the name doesn't carry the Epicness over and I'm looking into how to write the story properly to get just the right effect.
I think, to be honest, it'd be better to use text- Using audio files might make the game much bigger, and that could become a problem for some.
Isn't that what he was planning to do? I thought he needed voice acting for gasps, cries, general noises like that. If Tyro's voicing all the words, that would take a LOT longer!
This confirms the awesomeness. The biggest thing, for me, is multiplayer-ability. I LOVE MULTIPLAYER. Second, YES. That is exactly what I was thinking. In fact, better than what I was thinking. It sounds almost exactly like how Fire Emblem was written. With the characters and groups being split up, I mean. And the choices and victories/defeats affecting the storyline. (And Fire Emblem is one of my favorite games.) Yays! My ideas are good! I was thinking maybe some cutscenes with voices too, if that is within the cababilities of the animation we have...of course, lots of big hi-def cutscenes would probably be very difficult to make and also would make the game HUGE, so that's probably a bad idea. We could still have, like, ONE, though...maybe.
Can't tell if sarcastic... I'm pretty sure you are, but to answer you seriously I would choose the intro. Not that I have the authority to decide anything. Just making suggestions...
Seeing as I had no idea about animation and don't know any animators, I figured that cut-scenes ought to be like a talking comic book, like On The Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness 1 and 2 only with speech. It would be a do-able version that didn't demand an animator that might not be available. As for the issue of file size...hmm...A HD version might be good at some point when the normal version is done but I agree that it should be accessible to all. Hmm...
