Great News, everypony! (link to the Deviantart news)

Bosses are the biggest, baddest, and strongest enemies in any video game. They control hordes of monsters, rule the land, and they usually take a lot of skill to defeat. Your goal is to create a new colossus (a boss) for the new massively multiplayer online role-playing game, RIFT. deviantART is challenging artists to answer the question: What does this colossus look like in RIFT?
Choose one of the six planar themes: earth, air, fire, water, life, or death. Create concept art of a colossus using one of the themes. You can use your favorite image editing tool, a 3D program, or traditional media.

    Requirements:

    ..Your colossus
    • Must be based on only one of the six planar themes
    • Must be very large within the scale of the game environment
    • Must be original to you and all elements must originate from you. You cannot copy graphic material from the game.
    • Can be made in any medium as long as you submit it as a JPG or a PNG
    • Can be made using licensed brushes and textures, but you may not use third-party stock in your entry

    How to enter:

    • Choose one of the six planar themes.
    • Create concept art for a massive boss using your favorite image editing program, 3D graphics software, or traditional media.
    • Once you're done, submit it as a .JPG or .PNG file!

The prize is really awesome... A free copy of an MMO?
The only thing worth attempting this is the experience/fame and Deviantart Membership.

I might submit something... Although I fear this is just a tad outta my league X)

Not really, though it's kind of self-explanatory the bigger the better :p (I do mine in 7000x5000)
Though, you have to make it look about 20 times bigger than an ordinary human, if that's what you're askin' for :p

    EDIT: View attachment 130
1 sneak peek. Around 700x700 in size. Around 10th of the whole monster's body.

Hmm... DROP THAT SPOON MISTER!!! >:(
You call THAT terrifying? I've seen bunnies with more terrifying looks on their faces than THAT!

If I were to see one of those things coming at me, I'd be like, "Get outta here you poor excuse of a tripod before I sneeze on you."

Now if it were a bunny, I'd be terrified. I don't want no giant boulders coming at me made of dung. NO SIR!!! :derpe:

They are fairly terrifying when you're part of a large marine or zergling force.

You might as well right a last will then.

So satisfying, hearing the agonizing yells of the Marines and the ineligible cries of the dying zerglings...

Oh how I do love that, so very much...

Uh, pretend I didn't say that. Yes colossi very terrifying and obviously should win said competition.

Except you have to draw something original, so Colossi are out of the question no matter how cool, satisfying or scary they may be ;)

Never had time to do it. I would have drawn something eventually if i had the time, though.
