There are viruses that cannot be destroyed through regular means because they chill in the kernel, and activate before the OS boots on startup. They're called rootkits. They're very hard to get rid of but there is programs that can deal with them. Most you can find on the web for free. I would try renaming your Antivirus software something else. The virus will detect when it starts up and disable your antivirus from seeing it or being able to eradicate it. Renaming the your antivirus program gets around that. Another helpful tool is autoruns. It's a microsoft program that lets you see all programs that automatically run (which most malware and stuff do) which helps to identify the suspicious program and lets you keep it from automatically running, then you can find it and eradicate (or quarantine) it. This requires a bit of computer know how, but there are articles that teach you how to use it. If it was me I'd try to deal with it first, but if you don't have the skills or patience to try, then replacing your hard drive or computer might be a better option for you. An expensive option, but that's your decision.
As much as I would love to give advice about viruses and which killdisk to use etc. , I have to ask; did you try pressing the power button when it goes into standby? NOT RESTARTING, just pressing the power button.
Guys, i appreciate all of your input. Sparky guided me through most of it by PM. This morning i bought myself a relatively cheap new computer (€590). And aside from the internet issues i'm having, which will be resolved on the 4th of august, my computer is running fine. After the 4th, i'll probably start downloading some more of the programs i used to have, but for the time being, i only downloaded Mozilla Firefox, Skype, and some other necessary plug-ins for internet-browsing. Thank you all.
