    Personally I quite like Caesar and Neon Lights, although Caesar has been duplicated as a background pony in quite a few crowd scenes. Neon Lights is basically the male version of Vinyl Scratch, and appears as a background DJ-type pony on S2 E9. I just love both of their designs, Caesar being a high-society pony with a top hat and monicle and Neon Lights for his unique mohawk and purple glasses.

    I think characters that actually interract with the main characters can't really be considered background characters (except maybe Derpy). They're more like supporting cast or something.

    If that is true, and from what I hear of Octavia gaining a speaking role sometime in the next season, then does that mean she will no longer be a background (Even though she's only appeared once I believe) or even Derpy, despite the whole debacle over her?
