So check this out. I'm watching The Last Round Up (2-14) and I start looking at the train shots. I then start to wonder just how big is that train. I saw somewhere that a brony determined that ponies are around 3 ½ to 4 ft tall. So as Applejack starts to walk to the coach I pause the video and try to figure out how big the train is. It finally occurs to me that due to fluctuations in size owed to the fact that this is a cartoon, I'm really not going to figure this out (not sure why I was trying to in the first place). Then I start thinking about just how small ponies are (3 ½ feet or so is not that tall) and how things in Equestria should be in theory pony sized. Since I'm already thinking about the train I wonder what a pony sized train would be like and then it dawns on me, I have seen and even rode on a pony sized train. I was in Wales and I had an opportunity to ride on the The Ffestiniog Railway http://www.festrail.co.uk/main.shtml. The Ffestiniog is a narrow gage (2 ft) slate train that has become a tourist line. Needless to say, the engines and coaches were all small. (Any of the UK bronies been there and seen it? Do you think it would be pony sized?). This all got me thinking about how ponies would fit in my world and how I, as a full sized adult human, would fit in their world. I also started noticing things in my world that are pony sized. Have any of you noticed things are are pony sized? How about pondered living in Ponyville as a human?
Now that you mention it, it would be pretty inconvenient to be a human in a pony world because of size issues. I don't know why I've never considered that. Also, moved to Story Discussion because it fits better there.
It would espacially be harder for people like me who are over six foot, by comparing door sizes to the ponies, I probably would have to crouch just to get through the door of places.
Yeah, I've riden that train. I too have had the pleasure of riding a pony-sized train- And I didn't even know it! T'was many years ago, though... Meanwhile, I'd definitely have many troubles in ponyville. I'm... Tall.
