So as many of you have probably heard, the first episode of season 2 has in actuality been confirmed. The title as it says, is going to be "The Return of Harmony" So far here's what we know: The premier date is possibly September 17th. It's going to be a two-part episode. Yeah, I came across the spoilers. It was REALLY hard not to read. I can't wait to see Discord.....and more Fluttershy!!!
Sadly enough, I broke down and read the plot of the first episode and from the looks of it, it's going to be amazing. Definitely better than the first 2-part episode for sure. I'm still fighting the urge to read the second part, but I'm not going to ruin the first two episodes after months of waiting just like that? Hell, who knows, maybe Luna might make another surprise appearance at the end of this one too.
Oh my god, do I click it, don't I click it, do I want a spoiler, do I want a heads up, do I want to be left out of all the chat about next season, do I want to ruin the plot? SO MANY QUESTIONS.
This seems to be a good place to put a well thought out speculation of what could happen in the premiere. Keep in mind, I haven't read the plot for the first two episodes yet. This was thought up at about four thirty in the morning: The mane 6, as in the first season premiere, get their elements. They use the same friendship beam that defeated Nightmare Moon. But it dosen't work this time. Discord is even more powerful than they thought. Then they hear a familiar, boastful voice say: "Perhaps I could be of some assistance!" It's revealed to be Trixie! She offers her help to defeat Discord. Of course, the mane 6 are not so eager to take her up on her offer. They're still a little angry at her for the last time she was there. Trixie begs for their forgiveness and hopes that they can forgive her for being so boastful, and she evn promises to change her attitude if they'll just let her help them. They forgive her and try to defeat Discord with one extra pony. Discord is then either defeated or chased off in some fashion, the same way Nightmare Moon was defeated. As per "The Elements Of Harmony - Part 2" Celestia shows up. She asks what happened to Discord. The mane 6 (and Trixie) say "He's gone/he ran off!" (whatever they decide to do with him). Celestia then notices Trixie with a shocked expression. The others turn to look at her too. They all see that she has an element necklace as well! The scene changes to the library in the royal palace at Canterlot, where Celestia is rifling through some books. She finds the book she needs and reads something (out loud of course to the mane 6 (and Trixie)) about their actually being a mysterious 7th element: "The Element Of Illusion!" Obviously, Trixie embodies this element. This is why she wanted to help them in the fight against Discord. She knew of the 7th element, and knew she embodied it. After Trixie explains how she cme to this discovery, Celestia asks Trixie if she would like to move to Ponyvilleand study the magic of friendship with Twilight. At first, she's not so sure about all this, she worries what Twilights other friends will think of this. But, without hesitation, the other five each tell her that it would be an honour for her to live in Ponyville witht them! Maybe they say something along the lines of "You helped us defeat an enemy stronger than Nightamre Moon herself! Anypony who can do that is a friend of mine!" Celestia then asks Twilight if she learned anything about friendship. Maybe something like: "Sometimes enemies from the past can become great allies, or even friends, in the future." Then, the mane 7 walk off, and Trixie starts life anew in Ponyville *End Credits* You can also use your imagination to work Luna in there as well. Again, this is just a well thought out prediction of what I think could happen without spoiling the actual plot of the first two episodes.
I'm personally rather wary about this whole thing, but I suppose stranger things have been leaked before. Have we actually gotten anything resembling confirmation on the September 17th airdate? I haven't seen it mentioned on EqD, but I might have missed it.
Couldn't find official confirmation and I don't know if Sethisto from EqD has any sources for that kind of information we don't have.
It may be saying 100%, but since they got that information from an unofficial site I don't know if it's reliable. I think the Nick and More! site may have just quoted some rumors and presented them as facts (the description they give for the episode is also exactly the same as the one in the rumors). In fact they might even have taken that information from Equestria Daily. I don't think unofficial sites like these get to take a look at official schedules beforehand. Now I'm hoping something proves me wrong.
From what I've read on plot for the first episode of the two-parter, I think I'm going to like Discord as a bad guy. Seriously, the way he does things will make for some interesting things to watch especially when you consider that the base of the show is all about friendship. I'm looking forward to this a lot.

Oh, so there is a topic for season 2. I thought it was odd that there wasn't. *Puts on pessimist glasses* As excited as I am for it I can't help but feel like something will go wrong. I doubt it will happen, but I can't stop thinking about it. And then today I was reminded that Lauren is no longer producing the show (which I had completely forgotten due to the other things I was realizing could go wrong...). I'm more hoping that the season is a success rather than trying to find the story of all the episodes. :\ *Takes off pessimist glasses*
