I noticed other artists create threads that they occasionally update with their artwork. This is mine!

So, yeah, check here now and then to see my >attempts< at drawing.

Also, here is a link to my DeviantArt: http://solarnucleus.deviantart.com/

Here is the first: My OC, Solar Nucleus.

I'd like to see you work, but your pictures are broken. I can't see them.

There we go. They look great.

Quick question. Did you put a border around the body of the pony in the second picture?

    Thanks!

Yes, I did. I can take it off, if it stands out too much.

It's your work, do as you wish.

I just noticed it stuck off from the pony in some places.

Yeah, I always have problems when vectoring, like recolorization, or thickened outlines.

You made them with vectors? I've never tried that. All my stuff is hand drawn.

I dunno how to explain it. This is my process:

    1) Hand draw

    2) Scan and save as JPEG

    3) Trace JPEG using Inkscape, create an SVG outline (vector)

    3.5) Export as PNG

    4) Color using Microsoft Paint

    5) Touch up/add effects using Inkscape, GIMP, or PicsArt.

So... yeah. I dunno what kind of style that is lol.

You made your avatar on Paint? That's very good!

    Lyra! I like.

The pic looks great, but the fact that her hind legs are lighter than the front throws me off a bit, as well as that line between her torso and hindquarters. The colours are also kinda dark; was this intended? Other than those, nicely done :>

Ah, yes, I used the screenshot from the show as a color palette. The shot has glowing effects, so the foreground is darker than the background. And they are underground, hence the darkness.

I guess I'm too lazy to make my own palette. :p

Looks pretty great although the pinks of her necklace and flowers are a little bit too bright if you are going for the dark underground look
