Hey there! I'm here to ask what you think of today's generation of youth. I'm sure we all have an opinion on it. What do you think about the youth of today. Taking into account that a lot of the users on here are part of it. Do you think it has taken a downfall or do you think it is fine? Is it full of decent people who want to have a future, or full of plain 'ol uuh...*word omitted*? So yeah, as for me, I'm part of this society, and quite frankly I think that the standard of today's youth has dropped, a lot. There really is only one way for me to put it: I am quite happy to say that I consider myself a rebel
And this is why i am a misanthrope. Except i like people who are "different" like me. I was reading about the Miami zombie attack. THERE WAS MORE THAN ONE! The world is *REDACTED*
While yes, I am certain youth standards have decreased slightly, what a lot of people don't realize is that the idiots are now able to be a lot more vocal, and oft times drown out their smarter peers. Kinda like the thing where people think times were better in the past, no they weren't. Nowadays, there's less wars, less crime, the world's richer on average, we have amazing technology and standard of living(First world nations), we are just able to hear about the bad parts more often, so people think the world is bad and falling apart when it really isn't.
Yeah i dont believe a word of that. The collective intelligence of the human race has been deteriorating the past few years. Richer on average?Pfft...if that was true.I wouldnt be living in a run down ,crime infested neighborhood. Now wouldnt i? Failing economy.Governments getting progressively more controlling. Corruption....yeah...as soon as space colonization is invented im moving to a new planet.
Today's generation? The people born today? I don't know much about them yet, but they cry a lot. :Trollestia: Every generation thinks that, surely, it's THEIR generation that's messed up. However, every person is different, so we can't measure ourselves that way. Each generation is different, and they may not be to blame. The best we can be is a group of individuals who think for themselves, not because it's safe to do so, but because to do so is safe.
The observation's of one human can not be the judge of the entirety of the human race, remember, there's 7 billion of us.
6 and a half billion blithering idiots > 500 million decent people. When ever i go out.I see several people being stupid.
Also Sparky, these are all AVERAGE's that means about, not for everyone, and you can not lump 6 billion people unfairly into one group
I did.The educational system is messed up.Kids are getting dumber because of that, crappy tv and horrid pop "music".IF kids are the future than we are screwed.
HA! Your funny, by the time the 'idiots' as you put them have a chance to come into power, they would have gotten a healthy dose of reality and all the really dumb ones would have killed themselves off with their 'yolo' and 'swag' crap.
Don't wanna be a killjoy or anything, but uhh, he just did. ON TOPIC: It's not the next generation that's having the problems, it's ours/the ones above ours (Depending which generation you're in). I blame the parents. If the child comes up an evil little [censored], it's 90% of the time the parents' fault.
"A dose of reality" doesnt help stupid politicians (AKA George Bush) from wrecking everything up with their stupidity. Alot of people agree with me that the world is full of rude screaming idiots.People have been getting dumber over the past 50 or so years... Parents,School,"TV","Music",Peers....These are the reasons
As I like to put it 'Genius can be find in the most unlikely of places'. All it takes is one person, with the right ideas, and the world is revolutionized forever.
I have pretty good ideas....but i dont think anyone will listen because they cant seem to understand them.
Dumb it down, or calm down, from what I know about you. If your getting into one of these discussions, take in your surroundings, know the person you are talking to, adapt to it, thus is the makings of an orator.
Dumbing it down renders it moot. Im not gonna teach things to a full grown man the same way i would teach a four year old not to bite people. If they wanna hear my message they have to be able to understand it. If they dont then ive just wasted my time on them.
*Facepalm* If you want to make a difference, you have to do something called adapting to the situation. If it is necessary to use slightly smaller words, then fine. But if you need to bring it down below conversational level...Abort right then and there.
My opinion on this topic is a very simple one, it's a matter of perspective. Each generation is going to think they have it better than the next generation. You see it literally everywhere, a classic example being "You know, back in my day we had to walk to school 5 miles in the snow uphill both ways." We're always going to look down on the generation that follows, but it doesn't necessarily mean that they're worse than we are, it's just how things are. Again, it's a matter of perspective. If you like rock music, you'll always like it better. If you like orange soda, you'll always like it better. If you were born in the 90's, chances are, you're going to think it's better. Going around mocking other people's preferences is a quick way to create a never-ending argument. For example, a lot of people really don't like Justin Bieber, but to be honest, I don't mind the guy. He's certainly talented and as much as I would love to hop on board the bandwagon, his music doesn't actually suck, it's just not up to my tastes. It's his fans that I don't like, and even then it's the annoying ones in particular that irk me. Edit: You guys have completely strayed from the topic at hand.
