Okay, i've been reading ALOT of posts lately about how people should not "Over do" or "Go too far" with their bronyiasm. Well, personally i think that you should be extremely proud of being a brony! Such as the same way people are proud to be gay. I have bought 3 figures and a AppleJack T-shirt. I wore it to school and i got 3 or 4 compliments on it! And the people were people i didn't even know. I stopped and asked " Do you like My Little Pony, or are you making fun of me?" And 2 of them said "No! I really do like it! I love Derpy!" And the other ones said "Heck yeah! I like Pinkie Pie or Fluttershy!" And i was quite frankly shocked! And the people i DO know, like MLP too. But only one of my friends is a brony. (She likes Rarity) But some people are making it seem like that their community is not very open-minded or tolerant of others cuz they're different. Where i live, and at my school, everyone is VERY open-minded and tolerant of anyone of any race, religion, sexuality, or intrests. To some, this may sound rediculous, but it's not. ^^ There are good people in this world. Love your neighbor as yourself.

Just to clear up something, nopony is saying there is anything wrong with being a proud brony. I don't know where this misconception is coming from, but nopony is saying that. Owning merchandise isn't going over-the-top. You can own every single shirt, toy, or other type of pony paraphernalia there is. You can tell others that you're a brony, if you want. That's not what's meant by "over the top." I just wanted to point this out from the get-go.

As for your situation, that's pretty awesome. I live in what I believe is a very open-minded and tolerant community as well. Unfortunately, not everyone does, and it's imperative that one considers that factor. So, no, what you say doesn't sound ridiculous, but it does vary by location. That's an unfortunately reality. It really is a shame.

I agree with ePONYmous, it is a common misconception.

I intend to do the same thing (wearing a MLP shirt) for the start of my highschool year... but I live in the hickeys so the reaction will probably be waaay different, lol.

I'm glad things turned out your way. Heck, the only way I can confess is if someone else stands and announces it too!

I've put pony posters up all around school, and interestingly, although most got taken down, a couple were left alone.

A "READ" poster is still stuck up inside the library.
A "RAVE" poster is still inside the lighting control room.

Everybody knows it was me, I'm not worried in the slightest about the reactions.

I wore my Fluttershy T-shirt today.

Absolutely nothing happened, not a single weird look.

People don't seem to care about pale yellow and pink.

Maybe I need a Rainbow Dash one for a reaction, just due to the gay community unfortunately claiming rainbows as their flag.

It wasn't just school I was walking through the main city centre. Wearing my Fluttershy shirt like a boss.

Oh, you were talking to Nantang.

I also put up Rainbow Dash Fliers. I found once scrunched up as it it had been punched and another gone. Maybe not not tolerant.

Well, Setzertrancer, on the first day of school I am going to go around school with my Rainbow Dash shirt. I'm a proud brony and I should represent it!

And yes, DRD, ponies will take over the world soon!!

now don't think I'm much different or telling people to stay in closet.
I do have highback sock with Spike on it. I do plan to buy some pony t-shirts (as soon as some other stuff I'm expecting arrives). I did convert a lot of people to bronies. But when I wear my stuff, I do it for me, and heck if someone approaches me and tells that he's brony too, I'd be happy. I have mlp ringtome on my mobile phone. Derpy's voice (fan made one) is my SMS alert. When I convert people, it's usually when they ask me what shows I like, then among couple other "regular" shows, I say MLP:FiM, they get interested, and then I just say that I think it's good show, and that I like it, and that I recommend it. not that he/she must watch it or should watch, but I just recommended it if person wants to watch it.
I've come across few friends who were interested, and said that they have watched one episode or so, but simply didn't feel like watching more, since they.. idk had better things to do.
Suma Summarum: I would recommend mlp to someone in same way I'd recommend Top Gear, or Family Guy, or Robot Chicken. That way, I show that I openly and proudly (even if I think that pride is too strong word) like the show, and still not over doing it.

I'd like to see the reactions around me, when I wear mine. Although the RBD shirt I ordered is discreet, the others aren't.

    :derpe:

Same here, if they get shipped to my house before next monday. Not to mention I'll try to make a unpacking video/voice-overs once I get them.

P.S. Ponies invade the world. Whahaha!

    Thanks!! :D
But I'm really not a confident guy... I've just kinda decided not to care what anyone at school thinks anymore. (ie I'm crazy :D)
I'm sure you could do it, too... and if you wish to, good luck, man!

I wish I could come out with me being a brony, but odds are being the race I am, I'll probably get shot.

well, today i made an experiment i gone to work with one of my brony shirts, and got no reaction at all, two guys asked what was writen and what was that draw, i answered and they were like. "meh", but said nothing bad about it.
i think that people dont have problems with Bronies at all, (with a few exceptions), so be proud and if someone asks say without doubt "i love mlp, and you should watch it too, is an awessome show"

i was using this shirt >[IMG]
