Well looks like I'm gonna miss this weeks contest too. My first day off of work is wednesday and even then I can only work on it for a few hours before I need sleep. It's my own fault for being slow with my drawings, but I have enough trouble being satisfied with pictures taking 7-9days. Rushing to meet a deadline won't help. So yeah, I won't be in any contest with such a short deadline. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
Well you could just do a sketch, it doesn't need to be perfect. This is just for fun and a bit of practice. As for me, I'm going to be too busy today and tomorrow, plus I think I've got plans for Wednesday so I'm not gonna be able to make it this week. I can prolly participate in the next challenge though.
I just stumbled upon this thread. Hmm... Is D'aww being extended, or shall I be facing something else?
You should probably wait for next week unless you feel you can pump out a sufficient picture in the next 9 hours.
A CHALLENGE! I do love challenges. Let's see what comes out before midnight, shall we? Later... Okay, so after about an hour of work, (since I had something else to art as well,) I did a doodle of Cherrystripe with a flower. Pff... oops. There's 11 pm for ya. My brain shuts off at 10.
Alrighty, so it's Wednesday once more and the results are in, what little of them there are. In first place this week is Eight Star Spoiler: Submission In second place this week is Darkshine Spoiler: Submission In third place this week is Nobody! because not enough people decided to submit anything. Also, as an added bonus, here was VirgilPony's take on the topic: Spoiler: Le Bonus He's way too good at this @_@ Just a reminder: Please don't post your submissions into this thread, I would much prefer them to be sent to me in a PM. This week's topic is:A pony cheering somebody up. (Note: It doesn't necessarily have to be another pony.)
Cheering someone up. Hmm.......... Is shipping allowed? More implied then anything. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
Right! So here is the Bruce Tim Batman from TAS being cheered up by Pinkie Pie! As you can see, his character is difficult to draw if all the pieces aren't in proper proportion. I thing I also have some slight adjustments to make in the final panel but I hope to have these painted up nice for the final image. I am going to try very hard to paint this in Photoshop to get some practice so, here's hoping it works. What you are looking at here in this image is my work process. I use Volumetrics, or measuring shapes, to ensure that whatever I get drawn stays 'on-model.' This is a reliable way to guarantee you end up at the other side with a character that is 90% accurate to the model sheet. Additionally, this gives you the chance to stage everything according to your wishes before the backbreaking lift of detailing. In fact, if your models aren't correctly drawn at this stage, the final image will not turn out correctly no matter how good you are at rendering. It is a key stage in drawing that, for the characters involved, is either done correctly or done wrong. I will have to check and make sure before I proceed but I have a couple of days to noodle this.
Well even if I could draw something of mediocre quality in that time, I can't use the computer anymore tonight in...2 minutes. So yeah, good luck everypony! [/discord quote]
