My personal opinion on the brony fandom... Now before you read this, I think it's important to note I'm an overly-sensitive guy whose feelings get hurt very easily, so this talking from my own personal experience, yours may be entirely different. Also, it's definitely gonna be a TL;DR for most people, and it may be a little, well, sensitive as it's essentially me discussing my emotions. If you're not interested, feel free to turn around now - I wouldn't blame you lol I was originally filled with optimism. I've been a brony for a year and I was coaxed into the brony life by the incredible writing talent of Amy Keating Rogers and the immense musical numbers produced by Daniel Ingram. I had been a hardcore brony from August-December 2011 when things started going downhill. Firstly, I joined my first ever pony marathon, mareathon if you will where things got a little hyper but things were pretty cool, we were all getting hyped for the Season 2 premiere and one thing led to another and I was given mod status. Now, when I became a mod, it was very, very early on in the stream's existance. So much so we were running a synchtube account with a hookup to a seperate livestream account. But in December, the mods, in our own private chat, started to get a little "overly hyper" themselves and started to show their true colors. They became nasty and mocked me for my fears and personal beliefs, which in my fragile state led to two breakdowns. I quit being a mod and quit talking to most of them after that moment. A few months later, I joined twitterponies. I read all the rules and all the guides and I thought it sounded like fun, so I gave it ago. Once again, like deja vu, a couple of months after a few of my new "friends" showed THEIR true colors. I realized I'd actually became friends with a vicious homophobe, 2 backstabbers and a guy who caused me to fall out with the friends I had made so he could close in and replace me. So for a month or two, I felt pretty low. I had a negative image of the brony community in general and really just hid away from everything for a while. I honestly didn't feel like I belonged for some time until I decided on one of my more positive days, that with a last thread of hope, I joined everypony.com and was met with the most overwhelming welcome messages and the craziest kindness I'd ever known. Everyone seemed so positive, so friendly, so kind I genuinely enjoyed it there and although I don't participate as much as I probably should, I do from time to time read some forums and it makes me smile, a few often make me chuckle a bit too. I was however, still quite skeptical about joining PonySquare, but when I did a couple of days ago, I was instantly met with kind welcome messages and more friendly people. So thank you, the users of PonySquare and the users of everypony.com for restoring my faith in the brony community and helping me realize not to judge an entire fandom by the few who wish to spoil everything, and most importantly for me, for making me feel like I have somewhere I could belong. Somewhere I could feel okay, somewhere I could feel positive and not have my emotions shot down. I'm sorry if this post annoyed you in any way, I'm sorry if you felt this post was pointless or stupid but I just needed to get this off my chest, and I thank you for it. I also accept that most of you are thinking "Well, you could just go out and get a life" but truth is, I seriously lack confidence around new people and although I often go out with my family but they tend to frustrate me, I some times go out alone but it bores me.

Thank you so much once again for your wonderful words and being one of those guys that proves to me exactly why it was worth sticking around and not giving up on everypony. Thank you and I will make it a priority to post some more around this site and become more involved.

(i know what you are going through. if you were here a year ago, i was a suicidal wreck caused by an old mod who was kicked out) Try to keep away from DanSze, he is not a person for the faint of heart. he is one of those cool trolls. As well as Testyal. i swear they are brothers... who came from Discords birth canal... who they then turned to stone for laughs.

tl;dr? Welcome here, friend. This website is proof the essence of the brony community is still very much alive! I remember going through periods of similair feels like you're describing, and there'll probabely be more of those times in my future. I know how bad it sucks having nowhere to go and nothing to do, except peeling off your own confidence. Getting frustrated with your own sensitivity because it gets you hurt all the the time... :/ But those periods will pass with time, because life is about ups and downs. This site might help you a lot, you seem like the kind of guy that'll easily become friends with everypony here.
'Plcae' was already there. My phone accidentally changed 'actually' to 'actualitY'. Oh, you. But, yes. I apologise sincerely. My heart is simply a tar-filled stone. Oh, wait. That would mean I would be dead. Okay, then. The part of my brain which handles compassionate emotions is burnt out.
And this is why I feel so strongly about other bronies. People can say whatever they want about it, but it's because of bronies that I haven't lost my faith in mankind. I was at the point in my life where I was realizing that everyone was a terrible person, but then I came here and everyone was so nice. It was very refreshing.
I'm so happy to hear that you found such wonderful communities after your bad experiences, Lucryder. I certainly hope that you'll stick around with us and post some around the forums. Maybe even create a blog to tell us about any ideas you're having, what happened to you during your day, or just anything you find cool. I hope to see you around the site.

I sincerely thank you as a moderator of this great community. I've been in your shoes with having little to no faith or whatever it is you did have in the brony fandom, and this forum has always changed my mind. I love this place and it's people and I constantly do my best to make sure everyone is treated fairly and justly. While I'm not perfect (Nobody is.) I make sure to give it my best all the time. I'm glad you enjoy it here and I'm glad you've found a home in it. I feel the same to this place and I'm glad someone else does other than myself. Also, testy is awesome. He's like that cool guy who doesn't look at (Or care about) explosions. Brohoof brutha. /)
Judging on your previous experiences, wouldn't you say that it's not the few that spoil the fandom? Then again, third time's the charm. inb4 troll problems from aforementioned communities.
