I'm just curious how your family and friends feel about your MLP obsession. Do they care? When they found out did they critique you for it? I never realized how much of the MLP fanbase was male until I got into Friendship is Magic. This thread isn't targeted to make fun of anyone! It's just out of my pure curiosity especially when you go out and buy the merchandise. Ever get any weird looks?
Well my grandmother assumes I'm gay. Some of my co workers think I'm not acting my age. Most others I know don't really care.
Only my dad knows, and though he was a little wierded out at first, once I showed him an article on bronies, I think he started taking it a bit more seriously.
My family is a tough bunch, they don;t understand internet memes, so I can;t show them some useful videos, they dislike animation so I cant put reason there... I m trying to find a way to tell them though.
My parents didn't care too much since I liked and watched cartoons since my childhood, my brother's joked around with me a few times about it a few times, my friend is in the middle of a possible reconversion process and my girlfriend and her family aren't bothered by it so yeah everyone I know is cool with my bronyness.
eeeh, my parents are fine with it. they don´t worry about this kind of stuff. they only care that I keep working and studying. everything else is fine to them. (I don´t go to conventions or dress myself like the characters). I think that my parents even feel curiosity for this fandom. (and my dad was a comic fan of the local comics of my natal town) and my girlfriend was a broy before this fandom. so, http://mylittlefacewhen.com/f/72/
What does he think about you being a pegasister or brony or fan or whatever you prefer to call yourself?
He doesn't care what I like as long as it makes me happy since he loves a lot of different things too.
My sister knows, but not my parents. Honestly, I don't approach my parents about all my likes/dislikes mostly because they all have to do with technology; which is the bane of my parents. Telling them outright would not be beneficial partially because they already think I'm gay (I don't date). I can't tell if my sister thinks I'm wierd or not. She walked past me singing the MLP theme song to make fun of me once, but another time she walked past and said "I used to love My Little Pony when I was younger," and just continuing on before I could respond. She's a tough one, she is.
My dad doesn't really care, my mom understands why I like the show but thinks it's a bit weird if I start collecting toys (so I don't, so I only have a few). My sister, who is 12, got into the show because of me (kinda funny how it worked out like that).
I feel this way kinda, about the technology part. My parents don't understand it a bit, my dad even said that the mac OS is the most superior... Maybe I just don't need to tell them. I mean what are the odds of it actually helping you know? I'll be able to drive soon anyways, then I can buy stuff if I feel like it.
Nobody really gives a dang, apart from my family. My family don't like it- In fact, Hate it, I believe. Getting more pony swag's a be difficult.
