All I can say, is that at my school, NOBODY has a problem with gays, lesbian, etc. In my community we are tolerant of all. And i've gone to school with my AppleJack shirt and i got 3 or 4 compliments on it. ^^ And no one gave me dirty looks or anything! No one said mean things to me at all. But thats in my community. ^^
1st thing: That was a small mistake on my part; I was thinking something completely different when I was typing that... That was meant to be in the DO'S section. I'll change it now to "Remain a Closet Brony if you are Comfortable with it." 2nd: "ok now look at saikyo's post please" Did... I seriously get credited for something? yay~ Added new rules to the Brony Rules list
I agree, and I'm not suggesting staying quiet about it either. Wearing a shirt is one way to show brony pride without being over-the-top. Negative. That thought never crossed my mind actually. I just provide examples to present my thoughts more clearly. Furthermore, that entire paragraph wasn't directed at you specifically (hence why I didn't quote you). It was more of a mix of what you said and reiterations of what has been said recently. Only about 4 sentences were specifically related to what you said. Fair enough, and they should, but I think some of us are concerned they may not. I agree with almost everything here, except with one point. I still think the show itself is just a TV show in the end, albeit a very good one, but the community that resulted from the show is what's much more special. Ask yourself this, would the show have the same meaning if it were not for the community?
I can actually say no to this one. The other people that make up this community are incredible, whether they be creative or kind, it makes no difference. All of them are welcome here, and most of them welcome anyone to their ranks. That's why I became a brony; because I took a bet for 100 bucks that I couldn't watch a whole, 30 minute long episode of a "girly" show. Needless to say, I won. I was instantly hooked the second I watched a few more episodes after that. ePONYmous, you are the wisest person I have ever "met". I also fixed the Closet Brony thing of the rules section. Perhaps we should have a brony meetup in Texas (For once) once it gets cooler. (No pun intended, it always gets to about 102 here...)
> Ask yourself this, would the show have the same meaning if it were not for the community? There's a reason I call MLP the touhou of the east. Touhou has a community that creates much more than the games by themselves ever could. Admitedly, ZUN is a total boss, but in the end, 90% of all things touhou related are fanon, or in other words, created by the community. And this fannon is the most cited thing from this fandom. Same thing here. There is the canon world, but most of the interesting things are speculation, created by the fans to fuel their creativity. The result? We need more touhou bronies.
instead of copy pasteing my reply I'll link to my post in similar topic: http://www.everypony.com/forums/sho...Brony-and-proud!&p=27435&viewfull=1#post27435
Wait, no military movement for brony rights? Well darn it all - there goes my plans for world conquest in the name of the Greater Pony Empire. As commander of the Dark Horse Legion, i would have lead an army of Knight-Mares into battle and exterminated the ignorant masses in our crusade by loving and tolerating them to extinction! I mean think about it everypony- If we ruled this world with an iron hoof, we'd be TOTALLY 20% cooler! It's a sound and realistic plan - although i must admit, i think we'll all agree that those 'extremists' among us who want us to wear our tshirts are completely out of control and may be going a little overboard *chuckles and munches a cupcake* Mmm...these are good! *shares* ^-^
after reading the first posts quote, i say to myself "theres those guys". i mean seriously, every cartoon, musician, tv show, and movie that has any kind of following have fans who act like that, im suprised people are that worried about it.
I thought of that too. I'm sure this uneasiness came with EVERY budding cartoon, musician, tv show, movie, etc. IMHO, this is growing pains. A global ease into a mindset that there are people all over the world united by a single thing. MLP:FIM is like a plant. With the right cultivation, love, tolerance, attention, and representation, it will grow and flourish. It's just a bumpy road, for now, and this is the...puberty part of it (lol).
Uh-oh... I'm quoted right at the start.. But seriously, there isn't anything wrong with wearing a pony shirt, right? And I was joking a bit with the first part. But I understand the concern though... it's just kinda funny and weird to be quoted for this is all
My dream is coming true. Sorry I have to go and unite my brothers to stop the war. *runs off to save brony kind from violence* No lie, I had this very same thing, but as a dream.
(Ties a yellow and pink ribbon around arm) (Pulls out Gun) So, any of you mother@#$%er wanna say Fluttershy isn't the cutest pony now, huh, huh? Fluttershy is Best pony, disagree and I bust a cap in yo flank *squee!*. Lol what was an awesome video.
no there's noting wrong in wearing mlp t-shirt, I have mlp stuff for public myself. I just want to make the point that people shouldn't go pushing it to other people, but recommend them (if they want to recommend so bad) and leave if they want to watch it or no.
@MyLittlePonyTales' Video; Heh, I found this video kinda funny. Only because of how ridiculous that seems. Bronies don't hate other bronies. We'd never resort to violence to defend which pony is supposedly the best pony. I mean, I think it's common knowledge by now that it's Pinkie Pie. So I won't worry about that. Right? RIGHT?! I did notice something interesting. I wouldn't mind wearing a shirt similar to the guy at 1:18, except I wouldn't want the cutie mark right above the crotch. I'd rather have it over the chest, for two reasons: 1) I don't want to draw anyone's attention to that area. 2) The other logical location would be on one (or both?) of the bottom-sides of the shirt to make it similar to an actual cutie mark on a flank, but then I'd probably get questions from people that know me like, "Why is that symbol there?" Since I'm into weather, I can easily convince a non-brony that I have the shirt only because it has a lightning bolt on it, just as long as they don't ask me why it's red, yellow, and blue. Unless I really wanted to go through the trouble and say something like, "Well, it's red, white, blue and yellow. Normally it'd be just yellow, right? So it's a patriotic lightning bolt." LOL! I wouldn't really do that though because I'd be cracking up at my own fib.
Then I assumed incorrectly. I apologize for doing so. It seemed entirely directed at me. U was just wrong there Anyway, I think that we can't control the bronies who aren't tactful enough by pointing out their not tactful. We're just going to have to live and let live, at least in my opinion. Although over the top-ness gives other bronies a bad name, other people should be able to realize we're not all like that. And I would agree that the community is very special and the show wouldn't have the same meaning if not for the community. That being said, I still see it as more than a TV show. I have a lot of emotional investment in it. The show has made me truly happy for the first time in a very long time. There is a special emotional effect that exists in the show, propelling it to being more than just a show for me. Now, for others it could be just a show. But claiming it is just a show overall seems, to me, to belittle what it is and what it has done for what could be the minority but what I see as the majority the more I talk to people.
Oh you wanna fight █████?! Rainbow Dash is da best pony out there! Cmon you bring your gang, I bring my gang and we gonna ████ you up. /sarcasm + Rainbow Dash is the best pony :Trollestia: (Anyways...that was an awesome video. I even saw Derpy's mark at 1:52) :derpe:
Obviously we aren't going to fight...but if this gang stuff really happens in real life...you know I'm siding with Rainbow Dash / Vinyl Scratch / Derpy. "Yo were ready for the Sonic Rainboom mother!@#$%^" /kidding.
