Man I hate it when society begins trying to cater to everyone that might possibly be offended by it. I mean, all that really does is destroy creativity to the point in which we might as well not even do anything, because something will offend everyone. Heck, PETA was upset by Mario's Tanuki Suit not long ago, were they not? Derp doesn't even have meaning behind it. Not originally. Those that declared that "derp" was an offensive term for disabled people (y'know 'cause people will get offended if I say retarded so I have to fix my vocabulary specially for them) then they should have done more research. If only those opposing Derpy Hooves' name could be brought to light regarding just how much idiocy their flimsy argument is fueled by, but alas. Derp originated on South Park as a complete nonsense name for the teacher's puppet "Mr. Derp." South Park kept using it for jibberish, employing sentences like "A derp-a derpy derp!" on occasion. It caught on. If it has any synonym, it'd be "blah." Old topic to be adding my two cents into but meh, I wanted to say what I wanted to say.

As you wish bucket king. Lets start this way. If you like Derpy, more power to you. If you feel the need to obess over the collective brony OC then more power to you. Look I'm tolerating you. Now my opinion on Depry. I never liked her. I never really liked her design, I never found the derp eyes cool. She just didn't have any appeal to me. I did like her scene in that one episode, but beyond after I awoke that sameday. I noticed things were diffetent. People called her offensive, people said she was insulting. All I saw was a clumsy pony. Then the art started. All the save derpy and anti derpy stuff was a riot. I loved the ones about fixing her. I loved the videos people made about saving her. They were hilarious. I've heard it was just "soccer moms" that were upet but that was not the case. Plenty of bronies of both sides were butthurt. Then she got "fixed" and doo doo storm 2 happened. Along with the death threats sent over a cartoon horse. I just gotta say I don't like Derpy hooves. I refuse to wear my Derpy shirt. It's the "less offensive" version as opposed to "Derpy". The one in Winter Wrap Up couldn't possibly be a shout-out to her because the episodes were already made and ready to send out however they may have been talking about her, you never know. I use Ditzy Doo most of the time because a lot of people find it a nicer thing to call her than "Derpy" so I play it safe. Oh apparently yeah, Derpy is also meant to have a kid called "Ditzy Do" but that's fanon.
