One of the reasons I am afraid to tell some of my friends and family about my brony-ism is the fact that some of us get the toys and some people in our current society may think that's too weird and frown upon it. I mean, this one guy had such a misguided view of bronies that he made a flash about how strange he thinks men purchasing the toys are... please be aware that it is a tad violent and that is why I didn't embed it into the post, so watch at your own risk: http://youtu.be/qw3DnhD8Gls Anyway, how do you guys feel about purchasing the toys?
I don't think I'll buy toys anytime soon, though I might go for a shirt sometimes. But I totally respect people doing so. I mean, it's only cool to have a figurine of you're favorite show on your shelf, isn't it?
They never had Rianbow Dash?, really? That's just plain madness. A shirt does sound cool, although I don't see myself getting one anytime soon. I respect them too, they have more confidence and courage than I do ^^"
I don't think it's strange... and am excited to get some next time I go to the city... Some people are just too judgemental is all. But I guess that people haven't seen enough of this kind of fandom, so they wouldn't be used to it either. I saw the video though... it's just for humor so don't worry.
Well the last time I got twilight my brother was with me and say we walked into the aisle he said are you going to buy all 6, I then picked up twilight. The women in the aisle whispered to her friend he's buying ponies, I thought it was funny. When I bought pinkie, the cashier said "awww, for your daughter". I said nope it's for me. She didn't believe me. She asked what I did with it, I said it will sit on my desk with the others. Her jaw kinda of dropped and she said others. When I bought Rarity, a co-worker was in the aisle and I asked which I should buy. He just laughed and walked away. I HOPE the next 3 will be as fun.
I don't think it's strange either, I'm just afraid might find them or something XD ... I also thought the video was funny XD I love this guy's work. I wouldn't mind on either :3 That was a funny story XD Thanks for sharing that :3 I know what you mean, I like the Blind Bag ones too.
As for me, I never had the mane 6...but do have two custom ponies that I bought from a brony I met at a meetup. She's amazing and makes good ones! I'll take new pictures of them once I get my merch soon. (Derpy + Vinyl Scratch)
I kind of agree with Twinkle. If someone comes over to your house and sees a Rainbow Dash toy....ridicule. If someone sees you in a BA Rainbow Dash Shirt, I would say there's less judgement there. But yeah, I bought two shirts, actually.
I think toys would be bit too much for me. since they are generally meant for target audience (little girls), I wouldn't be entertained with them too much. I'm never wasn't fan of plastic figures after all. Plushies on other hand I'd buy, also clothes, and other stuff that I can use, or consider cool. (also yeah, clothes I'd buy would have to be cool and in style (like that red Derpy t-shirt). Yes, effect of snowboarding. usually snowboarders are obsessed with looking cool, but in same time expressing their personality's.. actually a lot of people into extreme sports)
I'm just saying that I'm not ready to buy a shirt and wear it in public... and I have absolutely no goal towards buying toys as of now. Yeah, I agree with you about all that.
I'll admit, as MLP's intended audience is really little girls and the like, most of the toys don't appeal much to me. But the plushies/shirts/basic figurines/cards would be cool. Anything else would be.... childs play I guess? http://www.hasbro.com/mylittlepony/...10B6-1A6452E20001&product_id=28732&src=endeca This for example.
