I'd like Obama to win. However, between voter suppression and the crazy levels of activism in conservative circles since he got elected, I think Romney will probably win. Obama's health care reform legislation isn't "free health care." It's actually a fairly conservative reform that was championed for years by Republicans before Obama adopted it. The only socialist we have in any major political position in this country is Bernie Sanders.
Well, Obama is ineffective, and Romney is just another rich dude who's looking to increase his oil shares. Pick your poison. (This is exactly why I don't vote.)
I cannot--will not--ever consider the Republican party in this election. Their platform... their views. They're all horrendously shallow and just down right stupid and pathetic. Romney will annihilate any semblance of freedom and social progression we have gained. Now, I know a lot of people aren't exactly swooning over the idea of Obama being re-elected. As pointed out, he did enter office at the worst possible point after Bush's term. Policing and rebuilding everyone else's countries cost us a lot. While our economy isn't getting noticeably better, he is making progress. I'm hoping that this is merely the beginning of the road to recovery for the US. Lastly, Congress is extremely ignorant of the digital age we live in. Look at SOPA and all the demons it spawned. After, what, five attempts did they finally give up on trying to pass some cruel, overbearing internet law? All of the lobbying by those with money hurts us. The greed running within the rich does not bode well making policies. I wish people would realize that there comes a point when additional money is meaningless.
I am just grateful the republican candidate is not Rick Santorum, anyone is better than him. Those right wing so called "christians" really annoy me, their biblical legalism reminds me of the pharisees of old. I hope I am not offending anyone by saying this. But Jesus would totally deny them for their hypocrisy. Between Obama and Romney, just pick your poison, hopefully Obama is better but he always seemed like an opportunist to me, who changes his policies to whatever is required to get elected, same thing with Romney for that matter.
I'm for Romney not because I like him but because I can't imagine four more years of Obama and on top of that he doesn't support the military or Christians. I would have rather had Santorum or Ron Paul, but I'll take Romney over Obama any day.
Believe me, christians don't need any support. They are doing fine, they still have a prioritised position within our society. And Santorum would very likely turned the US into a theocratic dictatorship. But whatever, you are entitled to your opinion, both options are relatively crappy, nothing unusual with politics though.
And what makes you think Obama is anti-Christian, or anti-military for that matter? OOOHHH, he makes it easier for women to get birth control, how scary. And OOOHHH he wants to be more precise and streamlined in his military operations, so un-american! - - Auto Merge - - I agree with this. And in my opinion, the GOP should have gone with Ron Paul, he would have been able to secure those all important swing voters. - - Auto Merge - - That is why we should plug up our noses, head to the polls, and vote for the person we hate the least.
Oh yes, the 3rd party in this year. From what I hear, most Ron Paul supporters are going to vote for him as a statement to the GOP and Tea-Party. - - Auto Merge - - Now that I think about it, I should have added him.
Obama has wasted even more of our money and done nothing to pull military out when he promised he would. Well he broke promises. Time to give Romney the chance to screw up too. That sounds about right, doesn't it?
No it doesn't. Obama completed his promise to pull out of Iraq, is leaving Afganistan, would have closed Gitmo if it wasn't for Congress. In fact, almost all of Obama's promises that were blocked were because of either Congress, or he realize it wouldn't have been possible.
I hate the fact that American politics are so black and white. Especially since I don't subscribe to either Republicans or Democrats.
