(I sure hope that this is allowed) Welcome to my Weekly Debate Thread! I decided to make this as debates seem to be popular among our ranks. The Weekly Debate Thread is a place were people debate a certain week's topic, for better or worse! This week's topic of discussion: American vs Rest of World(don't hate) football. All weekly topics are subject to change if it is found a certain discussion was been wrapped up before the week's end. Please enjoy and behave yourselves! If you guys want another topic, please let me know!
Politics? This thread would actually be very interesting, though, despite the fact that it is going to need some HEAVY moderation.
Haha, this thread is off to an inauspicious start. I'm guessing this has to do with the fact that this is the internet. Anyway, watching sports in general are boring, actually doing them is fun. If we are talking about actually playing said sports, I'd pick soccer. It's more fun, less complicated and less chance of broken bones.
No I have not, and I've seen plenty of broken bones on others. But what I meant was that thrill of risk you get everytime you get when you head out on the field. And that feeling is only encouraged for me as a lineman because it's either hit, or be hit down in the trenches.
It's all a matter of personal preference really, and preference is a very difficult subject to debate on because the people involved are not only debating on personal opinions, but they're also debating on something that, let's be honest here, half the time has no evidence to support it /because/ it's a preference. Not to mention topics with that vague of a question generally end with one or more parties becoming enraged. Perhaps if you clarified the question a little more. Rather than asking "Which do you prefer" (essentially), you could ask "Which do you believe takes the most talent/skill/training, and why?"
