I've been wanting to ask: What does everypony think about Windows 8? I hear that many have given it little praise. Mostly because of its new 'Metro' interface, apps and whatnot. Rather than read reviews by critics, I would like to know what you guys think. I can't really complain because this is how its going to be for the next year. To me, its too soon to be criticized untill its finally out.
Yea, kinda hard to judge something that isn't even out yet, but I will likely be getting it as my dad is very connected in Microsoft (He even owns about 200 Windows 7 titles.) I'm also looking forward to the release of IE10 in the next month or so.
I haven't seen it for myself, but for me Windows 7 is way better than Vista. I'm sure I'll upgrade anyways.
Windows 8 Beta was out for a WHILE now. It's ****. There is no other way to phrase it. It's Vista with less shiny and more inconvenience.
Only minor changes are made in Betas, generally speaking. The principles of the OS (bad start menu and being a tablet OS on a PC) do not change.
*Shrugs* Like I said, we shall wait and see. And from past Windows, it seems like every other one is crap and the others are great (Windows Vista-Windows 7)
Generally speaking, of course. We have no idea what this is going to be like. I look forward to finding out.
Hmmmm.... So you're telling me that I might have to GO SOMEWHERE and DO SOMETHING? I'm not gonna lie, 2 in the morning is not my prime "get stuff done" time of day. Maybe I'll just wait for the actual Windows 8 to come out. That way, I only have to do ONE thing, and I don't even have to do it now.
I do know someone who installed and lived with the current version of Windows 8 for a little bit. The fact that he was rejoiced to have a menu button again speaks volumes on his opinion on it.
You must either be mad or have no knowledge about the stupidity of the Trident engine. Also, it has been released. "RTS" is the final version with some bugs still to be ironed out. And it's an awful interface for PCs.
