Well what I find will be the biggest thing that will finish off this fandom is the constant in fighting. I mean as in vs Cloppers or vs Derpy. Of course all fandoms have their flaws, but if we worked on our problems like some fans forcing our fandom on people then we will endure.
To me, The fandom has it's slow down during the summer as it seems. Season 3 is on it's way and stoked about it.
Nope it still exists. I can see it as ok if someone chose to post clop based stuff in a sfw place but some people search out and go to places cloppers are and start to slag them and tell them how they aren't as real a fan as they are. So what if they make pornagraphic stuff? As long as its not open and shoved in peoples faces thats fine then. I really like the fact this fandom has very little elitism but slowly its growing though and it worries me. As for the Derpy scenario I can understand why some are offended by such a name but acting almost violently because it was one or the other is crazy. I expect this of football hooligans, not fans of a wholesome TV show.
And I'm pretty sure a cancer of hate will be infinitely worse than that of clop. Not all furries are about porn... Maybe a lot of them but not all...
That's pretty much what was going on with me because I was tired of seeing clop everywhere when I wasn't looking for it, so I try to avoid the subject altogether, but sometimes it can be hard because I'd be lying if I said it didn't upset me. As long as I'm not forced to look at it I don't care. The problem is as long as I remain a fan of ponies and want to look for pictures, I will always find the naughty stuff mixed in so I kind of am forced to look at it. I don't care if cloppers do what they do, but I don't like having that material shoved in my face. I'll probably learn to deal with it eventually just like I did with the gruesome stuff like "Cupcakes" art.
I would just like to remark: $20 to whoever can name a reasonably sized following or fandom that Contains NO scandalous/sexual/violent/disturbing content.
I think people misunderstand me. I don't hate cloppers and I don't care what they do. What I hate is seeing clop art everywhere I go regarding ponies at all because I don't want to look at it.(This forum is the only acception so far for being clop free) I only started hating on certain cloppers BECAUSE of this. I've been a brony for nearly 14 months and have seen a lot of "naughty" material even though I've never searched for it once. I've been a major Naruto fan for over 4 years and have never seen a single "naughty" picture. Shipping or whatever doesn't count because that doesn't bother me. I just realized I mentioned that I don't like to get into this subject, but it looks like I just did.
Well Phat a lot of us are trying to make a effort to improve on this. For example a lot of people on tumblr now are instead of putting #NSFW #APPLEJACK as the tags, now put #NSFWAPPLEJACK which means that searching the tags for Applejack will not bring up these results. I'm not saying everyone is trying but some are. Also don't think because someone draws porn do it because they are turned on by it. I know many people that draw all kinds of porn for the sheer challenge it brings, pushing their artistic abilities is what stops artists from becoming bored. Don't judge a book by its cover alright... Unless its 50 shades of grey, which by all means burn it in hell fire!
You clearly weren't looking in the right places. Search through the Japanese parts of the internet. Get scarred for the next 30 minutes.
